I didn't get much time in on the delivery, instead I was finishing up the bags on the front of my Buddy's 55 Caddy. I did get the piece metal finished
Wow that's gonna look sick. You gonna keep the stock rear bumper? I've got a 60 Parkwood and an air bag kit begging to go together. I dig your ride and hope I can steal some of your methods for use of my ride. I would love to see how you did the front control arms a little closer- like what it looks like now after it's all bagged up- I already saw how you welded the plates onto the LCA's. Did you need any cups for the bags? Lastly- you notched the front? Would love to see how you used the S-10 spindles too. Thanks man! Rad Ride. Scott
well when the weather gets better I will try to take some pics for you. The pic of the LCA in this thread has the S-10 lower ball joint welded to it (2" higher for more drop)so you can see how that was done. I used a tapered reamer for the top ball joint and the stock tie rods (you can get it from a tool store or a hot rod parts catalog).I notched the frame rails for the tie rods.
"tapered reamer" ...something like this? http://www.speedwaymotors.com/p/2918,,_Ball-Joint-Tapered-Reamers.html?itemNo=REAMER
Did you fab that watts link from scratch? How about a tech for us poor east coasters who can't afford a kit????
man I never thought about it. I will have to see what pics I have of it and I would be more then happy to put together a tech on it
Actually, I just found a kit that Speedway offers - for $69! I put a call in to Jason @ Bear Metal Customs (Alliance Vendor) and will have it on the way tomorrow. However, I'd still like to see that tech... that thing looks like it would withstand a nuclear blast!
ya my bad. I am taking it to the DMV tomorrow morn. I drove it across town on a bootleg run tonight hahaha. I will take some pics soon
Dang it's already running? seems like a couple weeks ago it was all laid out in pieces! haha Nice job Zac... very cool!
looks awesome! 3 questions: what are the headlight rings? I found a pair of those in the wrecking yard loose, and I was thinking of using them on my 60, after seeing yours, it is probably definate. the other- how low can you drive it?, and do you raise it up to turn, or do you get a decent turning radius with it down? and what size tires and wheels?
they are G78's (about 27.6" tall), I can turn damn near full lock 1" off the ground, I drive it about 2-3" off the ground most the time, and they are late 60's Thunderbird head light bezals
no, I have been working on that caddy and theres a show this weekend so I just don't have time, but it is still gonna happen
