There was a fiberglass flip top Comet/Cyclone body in an old theater/shop I was in in the late 70's. Pics from those
days were lost in a fire but I wanna say/remember it
was a Lee Eliminator maybe? I've always wondered what
became of that shell and would love to find a pic of it
    in action.

For everyone that is badmouthing Jesse's move to build the hot dog cart, I will agree with Jesse. I used to work for Tucci Engineering and the Owner Dave Tucci was on that episode of Monster Garage, some time after the show the car was brought to our shop and when it was on the trailer the frame snapped in half just from the weight of the motor and the flexing of the frame while in the trailer, I fixed the frame on it and was amazed by how thin the frame tubing was, it looked like electrical conduit. That car was just plain dangerous in any form so to make it a little safer and perform better for later use while it was at Tucci engineering I built a weight box for it and added a few other incidentals.

MotorCity when was that event? I went to the 86 or 87 Nostalgia Drags once up there. It was a day when the Wizard showed up with his sherbert orange 48-55 Chevy Roadster truck.

cool, after checking the pics again I could tell it was a little later........but if anyone knows Tulsa drag Way things didnt change bleacher, pit,or return road wise in around 40 or so years until about 2-3 years ago when it took new ownership right??

I seen a really old video of Tulsa Drag way with older prostock 68-69 Camaros lined up parellel to the strip and would do dryhops while circling to the left around the tower to stage.

"That Jolly Rancher stagecoach brings back great memories of going to the Spokane Raceway Park when I pretty little. They would toss out Jolly Ranchers to the crowd and I think there was also a smaller one. Anyone remember? This was in the early 80s."

Ed Jones "Candyland Stagecoatch" was the last owner of Drag City in Pocatello Idaho when it was closed due to leaching from the phosphate plant next to it. Drag City was also known as Intermountain Raceway. One of the oldest dragstrips in the country when it finally closed. I believe it opened in 1952. Same year I was born. He also has a wheelstanding firetruck.

During my first trip to the US in 1984 I did the old northwest match race tour with Gary Densham. On consecutive weekends we ran Salt Lake City, Boise, Portland, Seattle and Spokane before finishing up at Pocatello match racing Johnny West. Jim Hennessey was running the track at the time and we hauled a drum of traction compound up from LA to try to add some stick to the old track.
Ed Jones ran the stagecoach at a number of those events so I got to know him as well.

Funny you should post the "Tin Indian" GTO this week. I just saw it
at the Mecum auction in Kissimmee,FL last week. Beautiful restoration of the original car and lotsa documentation.
Was bid up to $225,000 I think and the reserve was north of
    $300,000.

the black 60 Chev launches like that every time. the photo is taken at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI. I ran next to him two passes in a row. Believe it or not, he cut perfect lights BOTH times. He said those were his first .000's ever. Car runs steady low 10's. If you watch SPEED, his car is in one of their promos. I believe his home track is WIR at Kaukauna, WI
