Fiat Toppolino's - Photos anyone???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by panhead_pete, Mar 23, 2007.

  1. I bought it. It was 2 miles down the road from me. I just couldn't convince myself to buy it, but the wife said she didn't mind.

  3. This thing was built by a guy called Quad Al.Two 3420 cubic inch Allison 24 cylinder aircraft engines, about 3000 HP each. All wheel drive.I think it made some show off runs at a few tracks

I believe "Quad Al" had FOUR Allison engines, hence the name "Quad AL"

In the early 70's in Atlanta Georgia my Dad and his friends drag raced at Fairburn Dragstrip. Reggie had a altered wheel base 56 chevy sedan, and his other friend had a Fiat Topolino, white with a blown injected bigblock chevy (memory) and it had a distinctive paintied caveman w/club on the frt grille area which was an Iskendarian Cams Logo?? I will have to scan some pics when I find them.

That's the one. I see it all over. Not a big fan of the color myself, but I like the car.

  10. This is weird, I painted a cave man with a club on the front of a Topolino in the late 60's. It was a logo for Savage Clutches.
The car was called the Savage. It had a clutch flite tranny, and an olds rear end. ---could this be the same car ?
    Hope you find the pics

Here's the Fiat we built. Totally impractical, but my father always liked the Comp coupes.

26Tudor,the 3420 cube Allison is actually two 1710 cube V-12's on a common crankcase.

Here Are Some More Pictures Of Mike Sullivan's Fiat.
I Am Certain That This In The Fiat My Dad Has In His Garage. The Guy He Bought It From (lanzino & Skov) Ran It In Super Comp, It's Painted Black Cherry Red, And Lettered "the Godfather". The Trillo Bros. Had The Car Lenthened And That Is How It Is Today.
I Think That The White / White And Blue Car Is A Different Car, I Could Be Wrong Tho. Maybe Someone Out There Remembers It As The Godfather?

Impractical is good in my book. That was one cool car to drive. My dad had been at the races as long as there has been drag races and always talked up the comp coupes. I found the body in the next state over and my dad and I made his last trip before he passed to pick it up. I wish he could have seen it done, but it was enough to se how excited he was about the project. If it ever comes back up for sale, I may have to rob a bank to get it back. (Luckily it ended up with someone who appreciates it as much as we did.)
