Technical 50 Pontiac Coupe Chop!!! tons of pics

Well this is my first real chop. I dont think chopping a Model A counts.
Still this wasnt to difficult after a lot of staring and not blowing straight into it. but pictures definatly make it look much easier.
sorta modeling it after ponchos chop and not going for the whole "rockasilly" look .

here is what we started with

about 2 hours of staring and drawing on the car

Yep, you only lose an eyeball once. Well each eye anyway. I wouldn't mind chopping my 41 a few inches either, but I don't know how good a torpedoback would look chopped though.

 

where we were at after everything was cut apart

worst part was all the bracing behind the quarter window and finding the 75 spot welds to drill out



we cut the rear window completley out inbetween the beltline and window channel. .i dont like the look of the area between the trunnk lid and window to be elongated so we came up with this and it turned out perfect. also the coupe roof is very short to begin with wanted to keep it as long looking as possible . another reason we didnt move the back window forward

with glass and stainless to get an idea. the stainless still is going to fit well it doesnt look like it in the pic but its not bolted down. and the stainless will hid the cut line between the beltline trim and the channel

 

im thinkng of doing the same ole thing to my 51 buick. only that ill be swaping the stock rear glass for some thing more like an early ford or chevy.

glass eye = well, I dunno but you get the point

also made the bead rools in the origional run into the pieces i put it

your good pals at harbor freight. only thing i ever bought there. 5 bux for 8 and how could they screw those up .

everywhere else they are about 5 bux apiece
