I was standing at about half track when the blower
grenaded on herberts car,..you should have felt the
the heat wave from this,..it was quite warm even from
500ft away AND parts flew as far as 800 feet in all directions.

BOOOOOOM

 

I was shooting from the right side about 150 feet out and it was really intense from there. One chunk of the blower landed behind Densham's trailer which was all the way back by the driveway that comes in from the pit gate on Arrow.

This was Sept.11,1966 at South Glens Falls Dragstrip in NY.2 out of 3 match race with Ron Abbott in the "Hellzapoppin"rail.
Can't get anything bigger than thumbs to view.Just click on photo to enlarge,as if a computer dolt like me has to tell you.
