By far one of the coolest Drag Roadsters ever. What's your favorite?

  9. New York's National Speedway? Man, that's the SHIT! Piles of snow all over the place while they're drag racing? Priceless! That's the home track when I was a kid that all I could do is read about it. All the while it was just a few miles away from me. That's where all the magazines did their tests when I was a kid as well. XLNT!

Thank you so much for the great information.
Were the Tecumseh valve-lifters different from the Tecumseh push rods?

    Here’s a couple more.

‘’We loaded the car up on the trailer to take, what we were sure was, a very competitive car to Santa Pod, and unfortunately, shortly after setting off, the trailer came adrift from the tow car. The result being the trailer crossed two lanes of oncoming traffic before embedding itself in the side of an AA hut at the Banstead cross roads. The car was never rebuilt, although I believe the engine
possibly still exists in the corner of a shed somewhere.’’

‘’The plane is an F101 Voodoo known as the 'lead sled' because it was quite a heavy plane, from left to right Mark Stratton, David Riswick and Ken 'Tex' Blake. This picture was taken in 1967 on the flight line at RAF Upper Heyford by which time Mark had shoe-horned a 4.7 litre Chevy into the car. Dave had spent most of the year ordering speed equipment by mail order from the States. As a result the team won the Super Eliminator Trophy in August at the 2nd Annual Championship at Santa Pod. The winning ET was 12.4 seconds at 112 mph.’’

Thanks mate, knew it was one or the other. Not the best at IDing the century series fighters.
I worked restoring WWII Aussy aircraft for a while, (P-51D(CA-17), CA-12 Boomerang, DAP Mk 21 Beaufighter, P-40F Kittyhawk, P-40E Kittyhawk (With P-51 wings!) Wirraway (CA-1), Wacket (CA-6) and others), man I LOVE aircraft almost as much as Hot Rods. At least I can afford them, I antied up enough to buy a CAC Boomerang (Aussy built WWII fighter) a while ago but let it go because the initial outlay would have been a thousandth of the restoration bill.
    Doc.
