I was reading Ryans entry on turning twelve and started wondering what does world headquarters look like? I envision a giant green floating orb of fire, nevermind the man behind the curtain, flyin monkeys and all that jazz!

There are other world cl*** artists all over this site. Show us aspiring artists, where you do, what you do, when you do what you do!

I have an imac and a wacom tablet in the living room and a drafting table in my unfinished ba*****t but its just too damn cold to get any work done down there until I finish it and heat it. mn winters are tough on unheated garages and ba*****ts.

so show me what you got, inspire me to finish my ba*****t and create the ultimate art studio!

I have a 24" iMac and a 17" iMac with Wacom tablet also in a my makeshift studio. It's just another bedroom in my house but it's mine. I also have my Drum set in there for when I want to bang on something through frustration. Two desks (both 60" x 30"), one of them I have cut a rectangular hole out and fitted it with a light box for transfers. Then laid a sheet of gl*** on top for the light to show through as well as making it an easy place to clean spray mount or paint off. I painted the room red (which I am not sure if it was a mistake) and have black and warm Stained wood pieces around the room. It's pretty dreary inside during the day, but at night it becomes a great place to create. I think that I am going to take one desk out and give it to my wife for s****-booking so that the rooms opens up a bit.

The Jalopy Journal World Headquarters as pictured about 7 minutes ago and following a double all-nighter...

The entrance... We are always closed for business. Note the door to the right. Kevin Lee once threw up in that bathroom.

Looking in through the doors. I got the tank desk off of Craig's List in as seen condition. It's the best piece of furniture I own.

The work wall... I do all of my work on a nicely outfitted MacBook Pro hooked up to a 24" widescreen Sony monitor.

    The desktop... Nothing special...

Tis' a well equipped room Ryan. I like the collection of decks you have by the window. I have been known to keep a couple of my shredding sticks around also. I had my own deck company for a couple years but recently ended it. I still have not put any of my pics up because frames are so expensive, but maybe I can post some pics later when I get out of work.

My "studio" is in dozens of boxes until I finish wiring and drywalling the ba*****t. Right now I got my computer and Waicom set up in a corner of the living room ... I can't wait to have all my real art supplies and all that implies firmly established in the "man room".

I'm not gonna show our "office" 'cause it's so insignificant... two desks piled with bills and an old Dell.

  14. GEEZ! You guys must spend all your time cleaning your shop!:D How do you get any work done in such an organized area?

Here's a picture of my workspace when you could still walk around without tripping over old tool boxes and the like.

I've been to Ray's and anyone else who has will prolly agree that just that one photo doesn't do it justice. Sure that's the corner that he works in, but one gets a certain vibe from feeling all the uber cool stuff NOT in that photo.

Here's some lame pics of my digs. Cool desk, Ryan. I saved this one from the trash bin at my day gig. Knocked out a few (but not all) dents, painted it with silver hammertone, and recovered the top. I love this desk!

No, the walls aren't pink... kind of a khaki color. And most all of the vintage NC plates around the top of the wall were run on my grandfather's cars.

These old fed issue desks seem to be popular a**** us h.a.m.b-ers. Mine set me back $60 if I recall.

I'm fortunate enough to have two workspaces.
One is upstairs, where I paint and do more
    of the hands-on stuff.
(please note my constant companion in the chair)

The other is in our family room
where I do my computer arts.

ftroop I hate you for having such a cool ba*****t. And welcome aboard. As for you chaddilac, I like the apple setup and the concrete floors under you stude desk. Keep us updated on that project.

over the last 5 years i have drug home 3 of these old desks. with the full intention of using them in the house as my competer desk .i was stopped at the front door all 3 times by my wife.she didnt think much of my 1930 model Koken barber chair either . i tried convincing her it would make a great recliner for the den.

Haha! Maybe we should see if there are any matched pairs between us! (I do have a few matched pairs from 32, 34, & 38.)

  30. Ftroop you just went to the head of the 'Most hated people I don't know' list. Yes I am jealous, very, very jealous!
