For the price that one went for 5K+ a guy could buy a hell of a nice cab and frame and buy new fenders, hood and bed. Then either use a stock frame or one of those (trick of the week) S 10 frames.
Do the math and see what you come up with.
My self I'd rather start with a cab that no one had touched before even if it had a few small problems.
Clarification, By that I mean a cab that I don't suspect of having sub par repairs done on it or hidden bondo to cover what ever.

Funny....all of these FNG's with 1 post trying to sell old navy trucks. I got 4 msgs on myspace (my myspace page is listed on here) from different people purportedly saying that they have these for sale. I'm with the rest of you....let's see some happy customer's that have one in their possession instead of from 'a guy that knows a guy that works for ajax van lines' or whatever.

I went and looked at 7 of the trucks tonight. My buddy bought the best 2 of the bunch. They varied in the amount of bondo and quick patch jobs but all had some. He owns a body shop and is going to make a driver shop truck out of the better one. I thought he paid too much, but after what I've seen people paying on ebay maybe he did all right. I'd post a pic, but they all look the same!

Yup, that's what it means...but don't feel bad, after that, you get to be a grenade inspector, which in my opinion is just as bad, because you are disposable and useless as well as an FNG! :)

But be happy, you can all buy the alliance patch and be good to this site! I did and I will do it again when I can afford it!!!. Sorry, I lost track..Back to the OLD NAVY TRUCKS...:D

Here is my update (and it's not of much use)....and I also have a friend who has a blue (not a Old Navy truck)'52 1/2 ton, 5 window for sale. That truck is in the Classifieds. ANYWHO... I went in there with my kids today and used up their Xmas gift cards. I figured, WTF and asked the manager about it. She said the ones in this area (Northwest FL) are being taken away, and they will be gone by the end of the month. All info previously about corporate HQ taking them back, and no knowledge of that happens to them after that, stays standard. Sorry, not much help. I think you might be in for a ton of work with one of these. Old Farmer Joe's pickup that runs, may be had for cheaper. I did notice that the chrome bumpers and grille looked ok. My daughter heard me talk to the GM and about shit. She asked if she could have it when she turned 15 in a couple years. Yes, but you have to help me get the thing running in the meanwhile.

I'm sorry this whole thing has turned into a damn circus, all I wanted to do was get one for my father to screw around with. His brother in law had one of these, he's passed on almost 20 years now, and he really got excited when he thought I might be able to get him one.
I've also gotten email offers with steep prices. The damn things are shells, and other than the free factor, there's not much kink to them. It sounded like something fun to do, one of those stories your nephews tell their kids thirty years from now about their crazy uncle.
Too bad it all got shot to hell by these gougers.

i looked at a few of these this week and they all are butchered even the nice ones. i ve always wanted one.

ive been watching the ones on ebay and the prices seem to be dropping off a little. as i suspected do to the quantity of them out there .

im probably gonna settle for a door with the logo and hang it up in the garage.

Alright, I'll throw what I know out there and try to help anyone that is serious about getting one. I just picked mine up last week Thursday. Here's the the pic of the '53 I got.

I read this thread just like all you have done but decided to see what I could really do about gettin one.

I started makin a buncha calls and ended up talkin to the main person in charge of coordinating the move of all the Old Navy trucks. A very nice person and extremely willing to help. I was supplied with names and phone numbers of the actual companies doing the moving of the vehicles. It's not one company, it's many. Basically like one company contracting out all the moving to smaller, local-ish companies.

Upon contacting the "satellite" companies I was pretty rudely dealth with and offered "5 grand cash or bid on ebay". I'm pretty sure we all realize that 5 G's is steep considering there's no engine, trans, wiring, gas tank, title, etc. Either way, that was WAY over what I thought one would be worth so again I contacted the main coordinator. I was met with apologies and a promise to get one set up for me. The cooridinater I am speaking of is truely one of those "nice people" that you really don't think exist anymore.

A few days and phone calls later I was offered one approximately 500 miles (round trip) away. I headed out knowing full well that the condition and year of the truck was unknown. Getting it home was interesting but I won't bore you with the details.

The bottom line is, the "satellite" companies saw the first one on Ebay go for $5000 so to them, that automatically makes them ALL worth $5000. I paid substantially less than that for mine but I was told several times, that deal will not be offered again.

Also, I got extremely lucky! The truck I got is very, very solid with no rust-through at all, no signs of any deep dents filled with bondo and the only one patch panel I found is about 2" x 6" long on one of the rear fenders. I have honestly never seen a vehicle this old with so little rust. Even the cab corners, wheel wells, doors, jams and inner rockers are solid as can be. (Granted I don't live in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico or Cali either)

Bottom line : If you really want one of these truck, have the money to spend, the flexiblity to be able to go get one in a days notice and understand the condition and year will be unknown until you lay eyes on it... PM me and I will do what I can to help you out as I was helped.

That being said, PLEASE DO NOT contact me if you wanna talk price or are not really serious about it. I do not set the prices. I do not know where one would be coming from for you. I am not one of the movers. I am just a guy that saw an opportunity and went after it. I was helped along the way, so I am willing to help anyone else that is motivated to get one.

    Regards, Dave

I spoke with one of the guys removing them for the MN, WI, IA area. He has several (10 or more) and is asking $1000 for them. He is located in central WI. If you want his info, PM me.

  20. I've not read this thread but when I went out at lunch to get my wife a Valentine's Day present there was a truck leaving the Old Navy parking lot with three on a gooseneck trailer.

Guess I'll go read the thread now...

My wife made me go to Old Navy today.
I agreed, hoping to see one of these famous trucks.
She said "It used to be right here"

While she shopped I found the manager.
    What happened to the truck?
    We got rid of it.
What did you do with it?
    Some guys took it.
    What guys?
I don't know. We were informed that someone would be coming for the truck and we were supposed to have it cleaned out. They just showed up and said we're here for the truck and pushed it out the front door.

I probably shouldn't add insult to injury but my dads friend got one these trucks for free today. Apparently the guys that were contracted to pick it up were a bunch of jerk offs and the store manager told them to leave. They did take the bumpers and rear fenders with them though. My dad of course called me to see if any were left in my area but as usual I'm a day late dollar short, the one we had by the house was in really good shape.

Hi Everyone! I have a ten-year-old boy who obsessively loves old cars and trucks, and our Old Navy says we can have their truck if we come and get it ourselves at 3 in the morning. Problem is, my husband and I have no clue how we are going to get the truck out of the store. Can anyone PLEASE give us some instructions for removing the truck from the store?

I couldn't believe it. Wife and I were in Old Navy store one day and two days later back in mall and the truck is gone. I went in and asked manager what happened and she said all Old Navy trucks had been purchased by a single firm. I said maybe they will go on E-Bay but she didn't know. JDH

    Wow....Wow
Someone please close this! I really am running a fever cause I just read this whole thing and I am callin BS! I know I am FNG but really people come on here! We all want in on what "seems" to be a perfect shell for next to nothing but here is what I know to almost be for sure.

The company that "made" these for Old Navy will want some back no doubt....but I am sure not all thousands. This is cause they know most are junk and nobody has that kind of housing or need for all of that.

The FNG's who keep posting here have done one of two things; like others have posted, they simply walked into the store and said we are here for the truck and took it. No title or paperwork so who will find them but they do need to get rid of them quick.

Or in the same vain "they fell off the truck" Seeing what sleezbay can do they are looking for fast easy dollars. Notice all ebay sellers are first time sellers too (FNG)
Not to say that real people who will do rad things with them dont end up with them but...

I will even go as far as saying that whose ever hand some of the "lost ones" have ended up in may even be a respected member of the board...... Cause lets face it do you really think old navy folks are really searching the HAMB. They just heard about it at work one day?

I am all for NOTHING going to a graveyard, so yes maybe in someways we could say good for them but...... I prefer to find my own heap buried in the ground somewhere and do more with it than what most of these bodies are.

If someone finds that great graveyard of OlD Navy truck shells that are dying for a home please do let me know but untill then this whole thing is crap. Congrats to the ones who do get them, but lets start a new thread of YOUR pictures and what you are doing with them.

OK sorry, I have a cold and guess I needed to rant.
