  2. Back in 1966 I could have bought a 34 Chevy that was rolled over for $35.Was still pretty good, but it was upholstered in leopard skin, seats, door panels, headliner.I passed on it.Wish I could have a do-over.
I don't think anyone except Cher should use it.

Jimmy "Supafly" Snuka?!? Clearly, he was a tiger print man...Now "Macho Man" Randy Savage was known to wear some leopard...but not the Supafly.

I place leopard skins and mexican blankets in the same category. Trashy and stupid.

These were taken probably early-mid '50's either somewhere in Main or New York. A friend of my grandfathers.

I don't mind Serape's so much, as they are typically there until the interior gets re-covered.

Zebra and Leopard are what allows Las Vegas to straddle that fine line between Classy and Trashy,.......hence the attraction :D

Quote (Road Trip) ..."Oh my god...did somebody kill a leopard????"

    Yeah Baby.....shagalicious

Just to answer the actual question... YES it is traditional, it was done, it may have not been popular but it was there...

It's like Maltese Crosses, used in the right way it's just a personal taste thing. I've seen it in old magazines from the 50's and 60's as well.

  17. Wrong, those SOB's are stupid no matter where you put them.

That's because five years ago jackasses pasted them everywhere there was a smooth spot on their rig, which is my point. Back in the day, everyone from Roth to Barris implemented them. Now they get dogpiled cuz they're not "cool", not because they didn't use them traditionally back in the late fifties - early sixties.
Everything goes in and out of style, I've seen it. Who'd thought mural painted Vans would come back?

I think a lot of it came from the J.C. Whitney Traditions Collection. Or maybe it was the original Pimp MY Ride.

  23. I've never looked at a car WITHOUT a Maltese Cross on it somewhere & thought: "This car is missing something...... It really needs a Maltese Cross on it."

I don't care what anybody else puts on their cars: It aint mine. They might look at my doghouse and doors and think it's a pile of junk, who cares.

Jane Mansfield loved Pink......until she lost her head.[/QUOTE]

Uh...............she didn't lose her head, thats a myth. She lost her wig.

  26. A Maltese Cross is traditional for a Matlese dog. Those dogs look good in leopard print coats too.

This thread has gone all to hell.

  27. Research your facts,Stick. She wasn't decapitated. The thing you see sitting on the hood of her car,in the famous pic,is her blond wig. Most of her hair had fallin out from bleaching it. The urban legend was proven to be false years ago. Sorry...couldn't resist...

  28. Here's one I saw in a Merc a while back,and just loved...
