Here's a few pics sent to me by a friend. The first seems to be a cutout from either The National Dragster or a local racing newspaper. Loyed Woodland in the Brainbeau 442 and Bob Gaudreau driving the Paul Dodge GTO were local arch enemies. Loyed beat Bob 20 straight times prior to their controversial C/Stock showdown at Indy 1966. Loyed accidentally pulled his car out of gear allowing Gaudreau the win. However after inspection the Paul Dodge GTO was found with an illegal suspension modification and the Brainbeau car declared the winner. Well a re-match was staged at CT Dragway, the second pic, and Loyed beat Bob three straight. From what Loyed told me, Bob was not a happy camper.

That still doesn't explain what happened. This has to be the most bizarre photo in this thread...

 

I remember seeing this car at St Thomas Dragway back in the late 60's, I think she (Paula Murphy) was ahead of her time.

 

Workin on the cars at the Motel=PRICELESS. Check out the other trailer car in the background. The guy lying underneath as to use the trailer for a mini lift. Somewhere around here, I have a shot of some Diggers being worked on at the Motel lot with drop cords for lighting plugged into the room outlets with extension cords. I'll look

It didn't take too long for someone to post this picture. That was one heck of an explosion. I was fearful for John thinking Tony might crash into him. Thankfully he kept it under control, have to give him alot of credit for doing so.

When I was in my early teens, my neighbor was reminiscing about this. This little go-cart just went "hooha!" and was gone.

I thought he was full of it...
