  1. Here is a little fun I had with "Love Is Blue" Sunday at the end of a photo shoot for that Russian magazine I've told you about before, "Auto Tuning".
The first one I tried a bit of water, the second it got out of shape due to the pavement being damp, the next one it got out of shape even worse and you'll notice the right front tire smoking as I was trying to hold the car with the line lock. Even as wide as those front tires are, (345/35 ZR 15) the rears overpowered them and pushed the car down the asphalt. So the last one, I stayed out of the water and let it fly like a funny car doing a burnout. Hope you enjoy!! Man am I finally having fun with my Vette now that the overheating problem is fixed. [IMG] Thanks again Tom DeWitt Radiators!![IMG]
Oh, this was all on private property, not on public roads! Glenn

I have some photos to add here, mostly local stuff from the late 60's and a few mid 70's.

first one Gary Bcek at Cayuga Dragway Park , mid 70's Thrush Inc. Rexdale Ontario.

We just finished reworking that body before they went to Phoenix to test. All the tin was brand new and fresh from the anodizers. Dickie Venables did tell me that the carbon fiber overlay that we put on the cockpit side of the firewall to stiffen it up worked perfectly. Despite the boomer the firewall is in better shape than the old versions were after a couple of "normal" runs. Pity that there is no body attached to it<G>.

This car may have been from Canada's west coast.

yes ,the "wild Child" is owned by a guy in Mass. He just rebuilt the cammer motor .
My car and his did a match race in 1966.. We recreated that same race in June 2005..
    It was "fun"...

Yeah it's a tough way to start a season, wreck your brand new race car!! It could have been alot worse, that Tony received minor injuries was a blessing. I kept hoping he wouldn't crash into John after his extensive rehab and all. I breathed a sigh of relief when he stopped the car against the wall.
So you work for a company making the funny car bodies and/or tinwork???

  22. There was so much cool innovation in the 60's for drag racing. Those topless cars were a large part of it for me. Dig the flip top Vette in the background

For a few seconds there it looked like Tony was going to hit John, luckly John was late with the chutes while he was trying to give Tony some room.

442Mike, Rooman has his own chassis/tinwork shop, he does really nice work.

Give up the run and lock it down. It's not a road course.

  28. Rooman's shop is like a candy store for gearheads. I've only been there twice (about 6 years ago -- has it really been that long?) but I had spittle oozing out of my mouth both times.......
