I'm lovin' Hopped up Chevy Sixes....anyone want to help me out with some cool photos? Thanks...Sandpiper
Those last two pics Rustypipes are heavenly. You really can't beat a candied red engine block. Overused for a reason. Get ChevyGirlRox to post her Rajo converted 235.
theres a thread around somewhere thats devoted to all inlines... but I'm all for a chevy only thread!
Here is the link for the straight 6 thread. I agree with FENCEPOST86 though. A chevy only inline thread would be awsome!! I'm going to bolt all the hop up parts to mine on friday. I'll post some pics then. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18390&highlight=inline
I got my engine all mocked up with the Wayne Valve cover and side plate, Fenton dual intake and Fenton headers and took a few pictures. I'm taking it down this week to get it rebuilt. Then some paint and it will look great! Then I ran off without my camera. I won't have it back till Sunday... The engine looks good though.
http://www.cliffordperformance.net/ I polished only the tips of the fins and script, then steel-wooled it all and treated it with Gibbs. The only set of finned aluminum covers with 'Chevrolet' script. The valve cover is taller than any other.
I guess I qualify for this post . Here is my Rajo 235 Six Here is the post about when I found the car: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=216461&highlight=rajo Here is the post about when I bought the car: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=217200&highlight=rajo And here is my post about the updates I have done to the car recently: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=240978&highlight=rajo
The car was built in the late 1970s utilizing the Rajo equipment. The former owner (who I bought the car from) bought the speed equipment from his sister's boyfriend who lived on the east side of PA. Little by little I am piecing together how this rare head was located and purchased. From what I understand I have one of only a couple prototypes that ever existed, Speedy Bill has the other (which has been pictured on the HAMB). So basically mine is the only set up on a running and driving car. I LOVE that engine. It is the coolest sounding 6 on the planet. When I get the new fuel lines on I will make a youtube for you guys.
please do! you really 'lucked out' on that one, hey? Did the other owner realise how rare of a set up it is?
I saw the Rajo head and intake for the first time when I browsed the engines on this website a few years ago..... http://www.museumofamericanspeed.com/Collections/Engines/E033.shtml Is that the other prototype you mentioned? I thought those made it into production and only a few ever sold. - Definitely the rarest and coolest Chevy 6 speed equipment I know about. Great to see it on a driver and not just in that museum or on a collector's shelf ! Thanks for the nice pics and let us know when you got the youtube clip online...
check out my post about how i got my nicson chevy 6 triple carb intake. pics will be posted in the next few days on that post. Chevygirlrox can you send me pix of your engine, i have only pics from the speed museum but they **** only if its okey with you. send them to my email, but very nice sixes on this post.
Very interesting ChevyGirlRox. Sandpiper sure came up with the goods. I also dig Road Runner's pics. Very kool all.
Thanks stovebolt for posting the pic. I saw one of your threads and saw your early mcgurk triple intake and realy like it.
Not mine, so I don't have specifics but took these at the RRR last year in Vegas. Edmunds Intake, Fenton split exhaust manifold and interesting valve cover.
