Here is my 1950 3100. Bought it out of Texas a few months ago. Third on the list of projects. I have figured out over the years it is best to finish one before starting the next, or the next thing you know you have a pile of parts that don't run and don't ever get finished.

That looks like a 1-ton with the 9 foot bed. The wheel looked like a dually wheel turned inside, but duals would not have been stock on that truck with its bed.

Stock dually wheels on a 1-ton were 18 inches, not 20. That wheel looks like it could be a 19.5, which was stock a few years later (late 50's early 60's?).

  11. ...I've always liked the AD pickups, always have at least a couple around. Here's some I have now; the lite green one is for sale.

  12. ...someone just emailed me (2-20-08) about the lighter green truck just above; can you re-send or PM me, thanks.

  13. Trying to find one for sale in PA, Pocono's, doen't have to run.

This is the truck that Larry Biseglia would drive to the Indy 500 and park it out side the gate on 16th street, he was the first in line for the race for 19 years. He would show up in the first of May and camped in his truck. Larry was a race fan to the Bone!
They keep this truck under wraps at the Speedway Museum these days.

Ok, I've got a question, again.. Looking at these two cabs, they are different from each other, yet they are also different from the standard AD cab, right? Were these cabs specific to the chevy/gmc "big" trucks? I don't have a pic, but I have seen one that is a "long nose" version as well..

Use a tilt column from an S-10. They bolt right in if you grab the column/ brake pedal mount along with it. Just bend the front tabs down to meet the dash panel, drill a couple holes for the firewall plate and your good to go; doesn't even need shortening. Plus, you might as well get the brake pedal/ booster/ MC while you're at it and convert it to power brakes.

Here is a picture of my old shop COE. Mounted on a 1 ton wrecker chassis, dual rear wheels,350,4spd. I also lowered the top of the windshield 2 inches (kind of a fake chop) to fatten up the roof to match the nose :). Note the gas prices at the time !
