I dont have any before pics. to be honest i didnt really think this car would turn out as much when I started. It was an old gasser, which was hit real hard in the back, and by the time I got it the bottem 4 inches of the body were rotted right off. This is the reason I cut it up so much. i thought I really had nothing to lose. I am very happy with it now.

Im really not feeling the zoomy thing on this car. That is weird because I love zoomies. That is why I am confused.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! This is EXACTLY what I am looking at building for my a pickup. I have full access to a bender, adn have the welder. I wanted to see how others were building theirs...

I have a couple of questions:
    1. What size tubing are you using
    2. What kind of tubing (HREW, DOM, Chromo, ...)
    3. Why run the parr. frame rails instead of just on tube?
    4. Did yu base the frame off the original one?

Thanks a LOT for the inspiration.

Tubing is 1.75 " .120 wall. welded steel.
Dual tube is WAY stronger, kinda like a truss setup. Plus I wanted the look of the old dragmaster chassis. As a matter of fact this all started with a post on the hamb requesting pics of dragmaster chassis.
I did not ever measure against an original 33 chevy frame, because I shortened , narrowed, chaopped and sectioned the car. What would be the point?

    Jim,
I've read your thread with great interest. I have been racing old stock cars here in a vintage club in upstate NY but at 58, I'm slowing down a bit and decided to try rat rods - not enough $ for a 'slide the lights and mirrors under the frame' kind of car. I ran a '33 3w and toyed with the idea of doing exactly the hinge process you have done. With your pics I may attempt it. An important question - how do you hold your body in the upright position and how do you hold it down when on the road? I am really in awe of your handiwork.
