This was my entry in a DPMCC contest. Everyone used the same body. 60 Ford Ranchwagon. I went with dual inline Hemis:
I like to mess with the engines.I do some physics defying imagineering sometimes, but the ideas for these two were based on actual operating 1:1 engines. Reverse induction; Crank driven blower on a flathead - salt racer:
Mate, I like the 34 sedan looks cool.Your dio is the ducks guts. Where did the 34 body come from?? Rod
That was in a deal when I got three Jimmy Flintstone resin bodies for 10 bucks each. Thanks for the comps.
Hi guys.... I came over with TRaK gang and thought that I'd share a couple of my projects here too... First up is a '60 F100 gasser that I,ve been messin' with.... Next is a '55 Pontiac ragtop..... I gotta get back to work on this bad boy!
well since last time ive got a new project on the bench. its a 40 willys with a 40 ford front clip and rear fenders. ive been working on this for bout a week. tell me what you guys think. this is when i just had the front end on the rear fenders wasnt gonna look good with the running boards so this is when i put th 40 ford rear fenders on it next i started smoothing and made a roll pan roll pan willys and the nomad hope you guys like it
Where in the world did you find that 55 ragtop? Is that a resin-cast model? I don't ever remember a 55 Poncho ragtop being produced! I dig it!
That's one of the re-issued JoHan promo kit hardtops with the roof cut off.... The quasi-Carson style top was made by modifying the top from a diecast '53 Cadillac lowrider.
Hello and great work. I have a question for Primersfiner though. Is that good old bondo that you are using and how did you mix it. I look forward to Sunday models.I enjoy looking at the work that gets posted here. It is far easier to built an old rod in this scale then build a original one, plus the wife is a lot happier with the small amount I spend on models then I would spend on areal car. I am working on a 36 Ford 5w. I will post pictures of it soon.
Regular auto filler (Bondo) mixed just the same for a 1:1 car is the best filled to use. The model fillers tend to shrink a lot, the bondo wont. all model paints will stick to it too.
well here is some stuff i am messin' with right now.... i was in the DPMCC contest with geezer, but mine still ain't done lol Hosted on Fotki just did this a couple days ago... Hosted on Fotki hope to have this in color over next day or so... Hosted on Fotki
Here's my latest project on the bench. Monogram's Little Deuce done as fenderless. I also have a tudor I chopped that's getting little bits done here and there. Using a Paxton huffed Y-block for motivation. Had to re-do the pulley setup to make it more prototypical. Hopefully I'll have some new stuff next week to contribute.
Nice work! I dig it. I don't know if I could do slot drags. All that work gone in a couple seconds if something goes wrong
This is sort of OT but who doesn't like a "barn find" LOL. A guy said he had some models he was interested in selling. I went and looked. Mostly 1980's stuff. He said he was into models then and would go to the shows and he had some stuff he had built that was pretty nice but not anything I was interested in. In another box was this. (I figure you may recognize it) LOL <img src='http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-4/151282/truckResized.JPG' width=800 height=600 > He said he bought it at a model show 20 some years ago. Original from way back when. A decent build but you can see where some excess glue has browned. He said he was going to do it over but never did. I'm glad he didn't and I bought it.
I am working on a 60s monogram 34 Ford coupe,it was a built model I got off ebay and I am restoring it with the chassis from the 90s version 33 coupe which is based off the 60s kit. I used the chassis and tires from the 90s kit and the normal size 5 spokes from the revell 37 Ford coupe, the 34 came with the optional pontiac motor which I am retaining and I am going to keep the 34 in the maroon it came moulded in. The 60s kit also came with the convertible parts so I will be using the original chassis from the 34 and building a primered roadster with a 39 to 48 style flathead from another monogram kit and the stock wheels and tires. Jeff
Hey Nitro glad to see ya over here. You will get all kinds of ideas. Well a few of us including Nitro Marty did an overnight build last night this morning. We kept track of each other by emails. I did this T Touring on an A chassis. Been wanting a real one so I thought I would try it in scale. Tonight I sat the T roadster body on the chassis. Kinda like that too. Probably have to build another chassis.
I kinda decided to have a little play around with some models I pulled out of storage. After getting them out I suddenly wanted to build again but now I cant decide what to work on. Here is a pic of what I have to work on. There are, 1/32 34 coupe, drag car with funny car Hemi. Salt lake VW Aston Martin DB5 with scratch built full chassis etc.... 1/24 Tony Nancy 22jr T Roadster 1/25 37 Ford PU with chev rear 57 Ford salt car with major chop 32 coupe x2 one Lakes chopped and channeld with the doors open, one stock 30 Tudor 29 Roadster with 32 chassis 29 A 'Bucket' on Zd A chassis/ 4 pot. 40 Coupe, chopped. and, Not sure of the scale but the original Monogram Sizzler dragster to restore.
i see your dilema! man those are all cool projects! like the dragster, the kustom and the hot rods oh and ALL of them!
Hey guys, whose producing that '60 Ford wagoon????? ...and how much will it set a guy back? My first love was Mom's red Ford wagon when I was but a wee lad (translate 4yrs old) in the early 60s. I have an extra Starliner that might be willing to make a donation. Jigger!
