I'm pretty sure the wheels on that roadster are Plymouth high service wheels. Would be 20". They made them with the windows like that car has or smooth like the pair I have.

    15x7 is a rare size. Can't remember ever seeing another 7" pair in 15" diameter. Usually it is 4.5, 5, 6, 8, 8.5. Have seen a single 5.5 too.

these may not look rare, but they are.these are the 17x10 that E-T made for about 6 months in 1996-1997.they are a true 2 peice wheel the bolts together like the original 16x10.E-T told me that they only made about 10 pairs.

Them are 17" and bolt distance 4x4"

  6. Clark,

What year are those Plymouths? And how hard to find (translate as expensive) are they?

    Thanks, Bill

Damn! I don't have any pics, all my wheels are in storage! I've had a wheel fetish for years, and have been collecting a LONG time...my favorites are '60's 5-spokes, and I have nearly 250 American's, E-T's, Ansen's, Rader's, etc. Some of the rare stuff includes :

    1. 16" X 10", 2-piece, E-T III's, (original), found them in the garbage!! They had a pair of OLD slicks on them that were as hard as cement! I'm totally serious! By the curb on garbage day!...(found a matching pair of 14" X 7" fronts at a swap meet for $20)...

    2. 18" mag 12-spoke spindle mounts, not especially rare, but these are N.O.S, found them 4 miles from my house, still in the boxes, along with a pair of N.O.S. Avon Speedmaster's!

    3. 4-sets of Motor Wheel Fly's 15" X14" rears, 15" X 3 1/2" fronts

    4. Motor Wheel Fleas, 15 X 3 1/2 fronts,(smooth, no windows, no rivets or bolts, resemble smooth Halibrands)

    5. Set of 4, magnesium 14" X 7" Motor Wheel Spyder's

    6. 15" X 14" Ansen Sprint slot mags, (w/ matching 3 1/2" fronts)

    7. N.O.S. 16" X 11" Halibrand's mounted on N.O.S. Firestone Double Diamond dirt tracker's,(found hanging on the wall of a guy's storage building)

    8. 15" X 3 1/2" spindle mount, magnesium kidney bean Halibrand funny car style front wheels, (like the new Dragmaster's that Team III is repoping), (sold a '55 Chevy wagon to a guy, delivered it, they were on his garage wall...$35 !)

    9. Pair of cool 5-spoke Rader's that I've never seen before, (Rader had 13 different styles of wheels back in the '60's, not all of them were the "one-Rib",
    "Two-Rib", or "Tri-Rib" style, like the M/T's and Fenton's)

    10. Complete set of 4, !4" X 6" Crestline's

...and alot more! That's just some of them!

Mac the Yankee....they're pretty rare. I haven't seen any other of the smooth ones like mine. The ones with the holes show up from time to time. They also made the ones with the holes in 18". I'm not a big fan of the 20" wheels. I'd rather have 18"s.

Well, they aren't auto wheels, but I guess they are fairly rare. Goodyear 16" wheels from an F4U Corsair. I bought an old, rusty farm trailer that had a pair on it. Stub axle alongside shows build strength necessary for carrier landings.

There were a lot of Corsair's that were slowly destroyed post-WWII at Rukuhia in NZ. Most were melted down. Some parts were taken off for farm equipment, apparently.

Thats a shame, I love corsairs..Here are my artillery wheels, kinda hard to find in the ford 5 1/2 bolt pattern, I ended up buying 8 wheels to get a set of 4, and still ended up swapping the centers on two of them over to some bare 16 x 4s to get what I have

Check on a guy named Mike Guffy in northern Indiana. Search his name on here. He follows the Swap meets and has early indy wheels. He had one on Ebay about 4 months ago that had been converted to 8 lug. it was on there for $300 bucks and I was very tempted to but it. I dont have his number, but I'm sure guys on here have delt with him.. He buys, sells, and trades.. Good luck.

  17. Clark,

thanks for the info... NUTS! They would make great speedster wheels IF they weren't so hard to find.

    Here's some of my collection:

    Magnesium 15x4.5 Halibrand Kidney Beans.

16x10 magnesium Romeo Palamides. I was told these were run on one of Don Westerdale's early dragsters.

These 16x11 Halibrands were on Gene Snow's Rambunctuous funny car. They are stamped SNOW on the back sides of the rim.

If you haven't heard the disturbing news about Gene, do a Google search.

These wheels were on an early Funny car called "Tickle me Pink" owned by Al Graeber. I just got these a month ago.

The center wheel is known as "Hollywood", from Hollywood Wheels.
