Going to try to make it up there for one day. The Vipers will be in the usual spot, but I'm not making a pot of chili this time. Recent surgery has me laying low. I need to take a look at the race schedule, so I can be sure to see my friends run their cars. I will be riding around with friends as I am not healed enough to drive my hard steering old car. I scheduled my surgery so I can go for one day, if I surprise myself by feeling better than expected, I may make more than one day, but, I doubt it.

    See ya there.

Glad you can make it, but don't think you need a golf cart unless you aren't in decent physical shape. I went 2 years back and walked around that whole place about 2 dozen times just looking at all the stuff and talking with people, back and forth to watch the races, etc. I was sort of tired at the end of the day, but I can't imagine that a golf cart would have been better than just walking. Seems like with a cart, it would be a pain to really stop and talk and look at stuff. The whole place isn't really that huge that you can't just walk to any point within a reasonable amount of time. But, I guess if you have it, you can just decide to use it or not. Just a thought to maybe save you a few bucks and the hassle if you are cool with walking a little.

Well, at the CHRR, they start lining up outside on Tuesday... if that's any indicator.

Yeah, never mind trying to negotiate parking on Friday...the wait in traffic will be worse.

Motorhome parking was jam-packed on Thursday during last year's CHRR.

It will depend on traffic and how long it will take you to get the motorhome. If you were rolling by 1:30 you might make it with a big motor :D

Check the tires on it, especially the inside rear for proper air pressure.

Big Dad, LAX to Bakersfield is 2 hours. Between LAX and the 5-210-14 freeway split, the traffic can be slow, but after that interchange you're on your way. You are probably looking at 2 1/2 hours on a week day.
No way is it 4 hours...

If you arrive at noon, pick up car and headed north by 1:00, you'll be in Bakersfield no later than 3:00.

Chuys Restaurant (on Rosedale Highway, 58. West of 99 -approx. 3 miles, around the corner from the Bedrock castle) is hosting a March Meet Pre-Party Thursday night.

There will be cars on display, a kind of a Hot Rod/Show Car drive thru deal with food and drink specials along with a live radio remote. Should be a pretty decent time to just hang out talk racing and have a few drinks.

I wanted to go the Detroit Autorama, but it would be sacrilege to miss the MM's 50th.

I've got a booth this year. Stop by and say hello.
