This here is an O-fficial announcement! The 7th Annual Hunnert Car Pileup will be (as usual) the 2nd Saturday in October... which is October 11... at the Grundy County Speedway in Morris, IL.

We FINALLY had time to get the website revised WITH pictures (thanks Magnet and Django for the web work, and Tracy at Prozak & Tonic Studios for the photos).

We're still working on the website, so don't everyone pester me about the details just yet! We will make an announcement when the Vendor/Sponsor/Swap/Band/Volunteer details are finalized and posted.

We've heard that the Holiday Inn is changing names and building a new facility, so I don't know about reservations yet, but I'll fill you in on details later.

....I like the coupe on your no. 7 card with the Chevy inline mill...that's a cool car. A buddy of mine had his A coupe on your card (no.3 I think) and it ran a Chevy inline also. Cool, see you guys there in Oct.

 

I'll be there for sure. I wish I had a time machine so that I could go to it sooner.

That new building behind the current Holiday Inn will be a Holiday Inn Express and their phone number is 800-465-4329. Rooms with a AAA discount are $128.

I called and got my room there last month for 79.99 with the AAA discount. I booked it on the 800 number. Time will tell if they honor it or not. ​

 

We've been set in the Days Inn just down from Grundy since we left last year.

 

I'm freaking giddy already.

 

I love this show Can't wait for this year, I 'll plan on having my sedan there this time around.

9:00 central time, I just got a couple of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express for Fri and Sat nights.

Now I don't want any shenanigans out side my room late at night. (Unless I'm a part of it)

You can only book thru the 800 number right now for the new Holiday Inn Express. If you call the local number you get the current reg Holiday Inn.

You probably got quoted before they knew what was going on. Hopefully she sent you an email confirmation of that rate. I do believe they have to honor it. Although who am I to argue with a desk clerk

 

Yea, I think I snuck in before they realized what was going on. The other hotels where we had stayed in the past were both 20-30 bux higher.

I found my email and checked online and the rate is still holding....

 

They seem to always say they are sold out at the local numbers, but never actually sell out until September... but I wouldn't wait long. A lot of those rooms are reserved for internet/800 number reservations

 

I did book mine with the 800# with the new Holiday Inn Express, which is due to open April 25th and I did get the E:mail confirmation sent to me, so I printed it out, and stuck it up next to the calendar, so I'd have it to present in person. (Not that I'd forget what the numbers were)
