A friend of mine dropped me an email that contained the following link. It is of some unbeleivable salvage yards. It's worth checkin out!!! http://www.thelincolnforum.net/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=24423&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
If I had a chance to wander around that yard ,I would defenatly have to consult a Physian after 4 Hrs.
That can't be! I am not dreaming or am I someone help me wake up please...............LOL ................
now that could possibly be heaven? i bet they want a lot of lot for some of that stuff.... i didnt see where it was located? any clue?
wow... we have something like that around here... they take about 4 hours to walk through... and you still managed to miss something
This cant be still around , someone would no where it is, I d say there old pics but you never no i guess
The pics with all the hardtops and convertibles are from this guys place under "yard tour" http://www.kustomking.net/main1.htm The 2 before those labeled "stash 1" and "stash 2" are a yard near here, that I bought a '39 ford deluxe coupe out of a few years ago.
Holy crap. That is unbelievable. Thanks for posting. Gona get in touch with those folks. Thanks, BOBBY FORD
WOW, so much great iron there to fix up. Lots of great looking cars, and a lot of converts too. Id love it if there were a yard around here like that
Most of these yards have been discused here in the last year. I believe the one with the willys aero is in IN, I think the one with all the conv.'s and the mkII is in canada, and I belive it belongs to the company who makes the sheet metal for the 57 chevy convertable conversions.
Here in Australia there is a HUGE problem with yards like these. They are worth $120 a ton and more. So they are all disappearing
There was a yard around here that was maybe a 10th of that size. I loved going there. The newest thing I saw was a spirit of 76 nova, white with red and blue stripes. One car even had an old newspaper on the seat with president Kennedy's picture on the front page. I went over there last year, only to find an empty lot. The county had shut him down and towed away all his stuff. Enough to make a grown man cry.
It's unreal seeing so much cool old iron in one place. So much of it looks useable too. I would love to have one of those Lincolns, Pontiacs, or Cadillacs ...
Yep, and these yards are no where near Michigan, either...where we deal with rusted junk all the time...I think the weather/SALT plays a role in this, but I might be blind... Hell, don't leave your house un-guarded around here, scrappers will break in, bust out your walls and steal the copper pipes for scrap, and grab your aluminum siding on their way out. Seriously: http://detroit.craigslist.org/car/592907784.html
I fucken hate thieves My Brother builds switchboards. Someone stole $120k worth of copper out of one of his sites in Sydney. Anyhow, bone yards are cool. Here's some pics from Flynn's in Oz. One of only a handful of survivors. Over 4000 cars.
