I was reminded why i lke cars built before 1980 so much..those Saab Cadillacs don't need to be dirty to be nasty, they're just plain ugly compared to the gem next to it.

Here's a post for a friend. This is a 1966 XKE that had been sitting in a musty, rat-infested garage in Baytown, Texas for 35+ years. Original owner apparently blew the head gasket and just parked the car. After his passing, the son had no interest in the car (sound familiar?). With exception to a couple of gauges in the glovebox, the car is incredibly original with about 19K miles and a massive amount of original paperwork from England. He got a SUPER deal on this E-Type, though has many more bucks yet to spend. Had this been a convertible, the rodents would have completely destroyed the interior, but luckily, the windows were rolled up in this coupe so there was only the mildew to deal with. The original tires are still holding air! We transported it to his house via my enclosed trailer, and a few months later, yanked that big honker 4.2 litre engine out. Engine is at machine shop now. My apologies for this being slightly off topic.

May get a bit of grief for posting these since the oldest cars in this garage are from 1953.... but there is plenty of Detroit Iron

(Not my garage, just a friend's)

If you have read anything about the hamb,,,I would think you would have picked up on the Traditonal hot rod deal,,,

you are good at posting photos,,,but the late model cars are not something we car to see,,,nor do they belong on this threador this forum for that matter.

Many of us own all kinds of automobiles,,,some own exotic sports cars and high dollar specility cars,,,but the don't belong here and they know it. HRP

You know the world doesn't revolve around traditional cars. The thread asks "what's in the garage?". There are some sweet cars in this guys collection that would make great trad custom rods. I for one enjoy all the pics.

I am however gettin pretty tired of the unauthorized "Thread Police" that give folks that post pics for our enjoyment a hard time for doin' it!!!

If there is a problem with a post I'm sure that the moderators of the site will let the culprit know!!!!

I and others don't need you and others to tell someone else what we want to see!!!

  23. I'm not ashamed of what is in my Garage, my shame comes from how long it's been there. My Hemi powered 48 ford 3 window coupe hasn't seen daylight since Aug. 93.
my chopped, channeled, sectioned, and extended 54 GMC hasn't been on the road since 1967.

my chopped 2 door hardtop 52 plymouth wagon sits outside behind the shop for 12 years.

my 47 and 48 buick sedanette's are out in the orchard i've owned for 35 years

so is my 75 2 wheel drive blazer i've driven 787,000 mi

I weighted the people like you against the people who are general automotive enthusiasts.

Additionally, there ARE a few rod's in this collection, and even one Boyd Coddington car... so why not post a picture or two from each room?

The owner of this collection loves all kinds of cars, and it shows... albeit, there isn't one car from the pacific. Growing up in Detroit lends this kind of affection to buying, and driving the car's one love's.

I have no need to apologize to you ;) that much is obvious. What's in your garage? :) (no sarcasm intended there)

    Outskirts of Metro Detroit

There is always a "PR" risk involved in posting much of anything that is out of the ordinary...
Often the 'problems' I run into are related to people who don't read what is posted "your a liar, that isn't your garage" and such... where I implicitly post that it is not mine... but this is the first time I've seen somebody tell me I shouldn't post. There is a first for everything :p

Some of my friends think there is something wrong with me, but there is something I love about unrestored beaten up bodies with a big engine. Spending so much time in the garage just add's to her character, and I love that... hopefully you will eventually find the time to make her road worthy once again!

Personally, I like looking at all cars, whatever the year, make, or model. It's neat to see what's out there...be them old unrestored beaters in a dusty wooden shack full of musty nos parts, or gleaming warehouses with spotless floors....it's all great to me. And it's the common bond between us all on this forum. If I don't care for a post, I just keep scrolling....no biggy.
