So My buddy Bob just got his vintage Indy wheels on his car ..I thought it's pretty cool and wanted to share....
Cusome made spindle from England made off a lincoln spindle Good Stuff...Fun Times.... the front knock off came with a lead hammer to knock them on or off... evel
every time i see that car i want a 30-31 roadster so much more...whats he doing with the merc caps that used to be on it? zach
I've always loved that car. It just got better. I love the reworked Lincolns. Ingenuity at it's best.
Nice wheels, Nice car! Looks like it has the open car commercial cowl, that is a rare item, no windshield stantion mounting tabs.
Very cool!! I was watching a pair of the spindle mounts on Ebay a while back and didn't jump cause they were spindle mounts. Maybe next time. Clark

Nope that's one of those comercial cowls for sure, I've got one here and it's the same. I like those wheels, but that car just looked so right before....... I guess all things must change.
Make sure he tightens them knockoffs every 50 miles or so just to be safe. I had a nasty scare with the wire knockoffs I threw on mine the first week. I guess they can shift a bit after you first tighten them. I love that roadster...
I once had a '63 Maserati that I towed on a dolly down to Florida, backwards. With the front wheels on the ground, one of the knock-offs came off somewhere in Georgia. I couldn't see what was going on behind the rental truck I was towing with, and felt nothing. The wire wheel apparently came off, smacked some guys car, and rolled on off the road. I didn't know what happened until this pulled up next to us, honked, and gave us the middle finger salute! We stopped and found the wheel after looking for an hour. Luckly no damange to the car since the brake rotors were really big and acted as skinny wheels, keeping the ch***is off the ground!!!! We put the wheel back on using one of the rear wheel knock offs, and wired that rear wheel (on dolly) onto the axle for the rest of the trip...
That is a very cool looking wheel set up buuuuut.... I lost a factory knock off 62 Corvette wire wheel and it tore up the gl*** 1/4 panel pretty good. I swapped the car for a 40 sedan delivery and cash and he lost the right front 6 months later. I'd have to have it safety wired some how to run one again.
The comercial cowls had no posts and a cap that went over the top. Otherwise they were the same as roadsters. It looks to me that he used the comercial cap and molded it in. That's what it looks like anyway.........
Nope he had this guy at a place called fine lines that RULES and he jus molded every thing in... I'll call you later on some Madster Questions that I got... Word!!! Yo!!! evel
Awsome front wheels. I had wires with KO's on my 72 Vette, they go against travel and if "knocked" on properly should be just fine unless you go on a trip backwards. Even today sprint cars use knock-offs, they just use a hex shape in stead of ears.
