I would agree with that color... I know people that don't like that color, and there were very few Mustangs in that color... but I like it...

Here is a pic of the color....

My dad had a '65 Mustang in that color... my mom hated the color... still does... but since there were so few of them, I would love to have one that color...

not pre 1980 -but- looks like an 'old candy color & nobody has it on a car. (that i know of) i ran across it by accident.
WA-9218. its a 1994 GM wheel accent color.

otherwise 64 or 65 GM had a nice gold i remember a GTO around here that looked nice.

I was thinking more of a bronzeish gold. Not metallic, that dates it too far ahead. The mustang color is nice, but its a little too subtle IMO. Can't give ya any pics but thats my 02.

it looks sweet in black...leave it aloneee or if theres flaws in it now repaint it flat black....or do a deeper gold idk what it would be called though

  11. Can't picture it gold, but it would look cool to leave it flat black and have someone do some gold leaf lettering all down the side with pinstriped outlines. Or gloss black with gold lettering would look cool too.

Gold's always seemed like a grandma color to me for some reason. That mustang looks nice gold, but some cars look kind of blah in gold.

Paint it what you like though.

Hey, I bet it would look cool to paint it with a gold HOK basecoat like they use under candy paint and then just clear it. More glittery than a plain old gold metallic.

Well, im not really interested in HOK Golds right now, and thats what the 55 with white walls in this thread is. I want it more of a period Gold, like Billy (SlowandLow63) said the metallics will date it too far ahead. I think im going to go with the 65 Mustang, 62 Chevy or maybe even stock 55 Chevy Gold.....Thanks guys for your input....Thanks,Mike

  20. Hey bro, sorry to say not my 55 chevy (mines green) so I couldn't say what shade of gold it is but this is a HAMBers car.

This car I believe is from Illinois area and the HAMBer who bought it found it in this orginal condition. There's a great story about this car doing wheeles over bottles of beer in parking lots from the 70's.

Here's another great shot of a very kool 55 with a nice chop and some sweet gold paint.

I really like 1969 GM Riverside and Olympia gold. One is a little darker than the other and goes great with black accents (think 1969 Chevelle SS)

The white top might be cool too. This is a factory color for 70, I know because I started driving the family 4 door sedan that was this identical color when I was 13.

In 1955 they had a gold paint for their 50 Millionth Anniversary cars. However, was only offered on the 4 door Bel Air even though the the actual 50 Millionth Car was a 2 door hard top, the gold plated chrome wasn't an option either.
