Just in case any one cares .. It was a Engineering Masterpiece...

1960 Nash Rambler outfitted with a mid-engine Ferrari powerplant. The Ferrari theme is carried throughout right down to the prancing horse grille, Ferrari emblem shaped display mirrors, and the, what else, Ferrari red paint. Where the engine would normally reside is a compliment of custom, handmade luggage. Where the cargo would normally ride is the, what else, a Ferrari V-12

    It's RIDLER.
    Get it right.
    It's a man's name.
    Not a cartoon character.

When I was there on Friday oogling that car the owner or builder was there explaining some points to people. The car definately deserved the Ridler, but my choice would have been the '55 Chrysler wagon.

  9. Does that car have Ferrari suspension also? Does anyone know where I can get a listing of who won other awards?

It still looks like a Rambler. Just goes to show when people have more money then they know what to do with it.

Take it from me. Don't mispell that dude's name. I've seen other names and words of various people and things get mispelled quite often on here. Nobody either seems to notice or care. But. May God himself help you if you mispell Ridler's name. I didn't know any better when I mispelled it yesterday. I really did think that The Riddler from Batman picked the winner.

    Sorry. :D

Car is cool.. but the wheels make it lame. Needs a set of Borranis.

I belive this is the same car that was built out of what was left of a 360 modena, after his son wreked it while returning from prom. I believe its a 3.6 Liter V8.

  23. Ramblers Rule! :)

It's a ridiculous concept, but an amazing amount of work and very well executed. I reckon it's great. It has a design theme and they've stuck to it in every aspect. The custom luggage is great and the interior is a work of art.

I agree that the wheels would have been cool if they were a modern interpretation of a Borrani wire, but it would be difficult to pull off without making it look like some weird lowrider with big wheels.

The car that Troy built and won last year cost over $2M to build. The Rambler is awesome, but does it compare to last year's winner? Just curious.

  25. I like it,but i thought the Ferrari wheels, and the Scuderia shields on the fenders during the build, should have stayed, since they helped visually tie the 2 marques together.;)

the Rambler is a Seattle area built car (north of Seattle actually). the custom built wheels have to be disassembled (centers from the rims) to be removed I have heard. I guess the quarter windows are automated to open when it fires up and closes once the engine compartment cools down. A good friend got a chance to see it a few days before departure, said there was some really neat tricks done to it.

I like the fact the keep it lookin like a Rambler but with a european flair to the front end (so many mods just retains the recognizable look)

    Congrats to the winning team.
