It is the same car. I spent most of my time last year thinking about this car and to see it again this year with more incredibly detailed work is just a blessing for me. This car is the BEST I have ever seen. Period, end of story!
Just what high end Hot Rodding should be..! A race car Inspired work of art. Miller would be proud..! Thanks for the pics.
hope i get to see this in person someday - probably stare at it for an hour. question: anyone know what those wheels are? borrani?
ha! ...and here's the link from before including ashley's car as well. you can get a better look at the frame etc... amazing. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=168191&showall=1
Dan won the award in 1990. He's more into the art of his cars than he's into the awards. He builds cars that are usually "different" than everyone elses. He doesn't care who,and who doesn't, like his cars.
This is Dan's daughter. Thanks all for the kind words. We are really excited about this project as I know many others are. With some amazing new details and stuff we didn't show on the car at the show. Can't wait for all of you to see it at SEMA in raw. We had people coming up to us all weekend saying don't paint it please. It was great talking to many of you that came up and talked with nice comments. And the ones that hung around for a really long time studying the car and asking questions. And for those of you that didn't buy your prints done by Thom Taylor of the car you can do so proceeds go to the Humane Socitey so PM me for details.
It's a work of art for sure....both from an aesthetic standpoint and its engineering and workmanship features. But.....what's its intended use ?
Saw the post last year on the chassis itself and all I can now is DAM!!!!!!! please don't make us wait for next year coverage of Detroit to show more on the car just post progress shots here.
My dads working on the car as we speak. And after reading all the nice comments on the board to him. We decided that were going to keep you in build pictures of the car for the rest of the build. Thank you for having interest in what we are doing.
Prints? I didn't notice any prints for sale. I want one for sure. The car is a real piece of art. I enjoyed staring at it for quite a while on Friday.
awesome car.. thanks for sharing... here's a link to a decent site for the original... I love both! http://www.vintageracecars.com/sub.htm
Thanks for starting this thread, I quess I would have done that very soon... Ash, thanks for your replies! That car is a jewerly! I pretty much love everything in it... Are you guys going to take it to the salt flats some day? Thanks, --mika
Yea the prints are very cool one on hard canvus and one on like a hard cardboard stuff high quality. The drawings were done by Thom Taylor the one is black and white of the car racing on the boards very cool. And the other is in color of the car racing at the Bevlery Hills boardtrack with the stands in the background it looks like the old vintage racing posters. Each print is $25.00 also add $5.00 shipping. Proceeds go to the humane society because we love animals and have three very cool black cats at the shop. Thanks for all the kind words about the sub can't wait for it to be finished for SEMA.
Thanks you can check out my car it's in the new issue of Street Rodder I think it's out now or comes out this week. But very cool picture and the article has the story how the car evolved and plus my thoughts of growing up in the hot rodding word. Check it out it's very cool.
It's a Ford 4 cylinder Zetech motor used in the midget series... with some crazy machine work done and being done 4 the motor
