The only thing I've ever seen with hair on their legs is my cat, and it dont dance.Jim32, perhaps we should try Iron Butterfly.Maybe Hendrix.Damn, even country western sounds good compared to polka.I'm bringing my walkman.Latest update, Harry Willett is there , a day late but there.Good luck Harry.Bring sw chicago a trophy. We have a H.A.M.B. polka gala party planned for you at Larrys house.Plenty of bad music and food to match.

I did not know that Larry played the accordion.

If larry insises on polka music, then I think he needs a big bowel of cold potato perogies for breakfast next Saturday.

jim32,greg32,palos-the window squirt kid-fv3 and myself [billrinaldi] made a Banzai run to COBO Hall on Sat. Larry- no squirt guy- drove [ excellent chauffeur job by the way! ]. The show was up to it's usual high standards but I for one was not as dazzled by the basement boys as I have been in the past. Big Olds was upstairs, as it really looks like an upstairs car Nice paint, nice interior, very sharp!! But hotrodladycruisr came down stairs to run the HAMB meet and greet and even took all our pictures. On the way back home the 4 of us narrowed the Riddler down to 3 cars. Harry Willets 32, the 56 Chrysler wagon, and the 59 Rambler wagon. How bout that. Oh yea we made home just fine even if we couldn't see out the windshield. billrinaldi [windshield washer fluid donations gladly accepted]

Great road trip, missed the really bad weather, and the threatened polka music marathon. Thanks Larry for driving. Hey, one of our final three won.Not bad for a bunch of southside guys.Yesterday, I tried putting perogies on my wiper blades. It works, but my hairy legged cat tried to chase them. Scratched my hood.Does viagra work on windshield washers?

Yeh Larry thanks for the ride to Detroit. Except for the southside window tint and the "GPS system"(Guy in the Passenger Seat). Reading two pages of Mapquest and street signs from the back seat, can make one feel dyslexic.
Great trip guys. I hope all the other SW H.A.M.B & Eggers had a good trip too.

  7. Well this finally does it. Next time I'm not letting you guys talk me out of the Polka Party. It appears that you all need an educational expierience in the Polish/American culture. You dont even know how to spell or use pierogi correctly. Next time try tying the cat to the wiper blades first.

Sounds like the ride to Detroit was worth the price of admission. I'm sorry I missed the Perogis, Polish Sausage & Kraut! Does every Lexus come with Polka music CD's? I knew they had some great options that Dodge couldn't compete against.

I ended up driving up myself as other plans fell through. I left late Saturday, went to the show & came back Sunday morning. Stayed with some friends in Detroit. Great show. I had never been there before and I was overwhelmed. Had a great time, but since I was there rather late on Saturday, didn't see anyone I knew.

BTW: I am working on an Excel spreadsheet of all the summer events around the area and then some. If everyone will PM me events they want listed, I'll try to set up a comprehensive list that we can share. I have already pulled some listings from Old Cars Weekly and Hemmings, but whoever has dates, locations, etc. I will be happy to compile. I'm listing date, location, name of show, swap, cruise, etc., phone number & related website.

  11. Made it up Friday for the GM Heritage Center tour - thanks Bob K. for all your considerable organizational skills.

Man, Saturday just FLEW by, what a great time!

Last saw Diamond 49 and Tiger Mark as they flashed the brights before getting off in Kalamazoo.

Nice to see so many SW Chicago HAMB & Egger's at the very well-attended meet & greet.

I think thats only in the "Chicago edition" Blktie, and I stand corected by the "Polish Prince" the correct spelling is pierogi, no mater it's still tasts the same.
We might have stoped for dinner in Marshal, but we did not see it from our organic tinted windshield.

  15. Made it home safe and sound late Sunday! Had a great trip.

It was very cool seeing all the Chicago HAMBr's at the show. This is gotta be the best show of it's kind around these parts. I tried to get back to Cobo on Sunday, just ran outta gas. I had a great breakfast with Mrs. PPoC and our hosts in "Mexican Town" near downtown Detroit on Sunday morning. Been going there for a few years now. There's a fantasic Mexican resturant with a Sunday all you can eat buffet that is KILLER. The enchilladas are to kill for. Maybe next year we can arrange to go there and have a S.W. Chicago HAMB & Egger "Detroit Edition" there.

I'm hoping to be in Bridgeview this Saturday morning....

  16. Looking forward to returning next year!
It was great seeing so many HAMBer friends and meeting other HAMBers

I made it home safely...there was an accident on West I94, causing a 45 minute delay.

Did any of you win any bids at the pinstripers charity auction?!?

Tiger and I had a great time at Autorama. We are already planning to attend next years show. We really had a great turnout from our HAMB and EGGERS . Image that,
We arrived back in the Windy City on Monday without hitting any snow or rain.
We were able to donate to the pinstripers charity. I dont have a photo of the finished panel, but here it is while Travis "Tuki " Hess was putting the brush to it.

Larry, got enough washer fluid[liquid perogies] for the rest of winter? Thanks again for driving and giving a few of us some stories to tell. Next year, video tape. You should be complimented for the H.A.M.B. and Eggs idea. I see posts popping up constantly trying to start new ones. I want to go to the Vegas one. Road trip?

Now if Chuck's had a big screen, I'd bring the DVD of the Hunnert I picked up at HRCC last Saturday. If anyone wants to borrow it, let me know.

    Perogie omlets anyone?

  24. Okay, for those of us that don't watch that much TV...What cable channel is Dennis Gage's show on???

  25. Its on " SPEED CHANNEL " . What ever that is ! I only have regular TV. It is more traditional ( or maybe i am just CHEAP) . Mike

Missed you guys Saturday. Ended up running to the Roadster Shop to use their Lazee bead roller. This machine is the nicest Ive ever used.Learned how to make a right angle break following a curve. The new building is almost done, this is probably the nicest rod shop in the country, and in our backyard. They found nos billbord posters, one 1967 camaro and a 1957 chevy.Going in the showroom. I would recommend hitting the open house/streetrodder magazine cruise kickoff April 27. We should put SW Chicago H.A.M.B. cruise together and go up there in a group.Bet we can get in the magazine if we suck up to the editor!I'll get the times etc and report to the group.Mundelein is a ways from our beloved south side!If we're not on the dyno Saturday, I'll see ya........

  28. Greg32,

Are you talking about doing the Road Trip/Power Tour or just breakfast???
Here's the info from their web site:
    www.streetrodderweb.com

The Lokar Tour begins on Saturday, April 26th at the new "Roadster Shop" facilities in Mundelein, Illinois. It will be the debut of the 2008 Street Rodder / PPG Road Tour Roadster. Assembled by the team at the Roadster Shop, the American Speed Company's Speed '33 all steel body will rest on a Roadster Shop chassis and be powered by the new Ford Racing Boss 302 450 HP motor.

On Sunday, April 27th the festivities move down the road to Heidt's Hot Rod Shop in Wauconda, Illinois. Gary Heidt has planned his annual NSRA Appreciation Day and safety inspection for that day and it will be great to get together with all the area rodders.

Monday morning the Lokar Tour will visit the Auto Meter facilities in Sycamore, Illinois, west of Chicago. We will make a wide loop around the Chicago area and end up Monday evening in Manteno, Illinois where Troy Trepanier has invited us to visit his famous Rad Rides by Troy build shop.

Tuesday we head south and stop at the Indianapolis Speedway Museum at noon and then on to Cincinnati for the evening. Tuesday evening we will be guests at a big party and shop tour at Woody's Hot Rodz in Bright, Indiana near Cincinnati.

Wednesday we will stop at SoffSeal and then continue our southbound journey as we travel the back roads of Kentucky and then on to our evening stop in the beautiful Cumberland Falls State Park area of southern Kentucky.

Thursday morning we will pay a visit at Lecarra Steering Wheels in Oneida, Tennessee.

By early Thursday afternoon we will arrive in Knoxville and be special guests at the huge open house at Lokar Inc. We will help them celebrate their 20th Anniversary.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be filled with street rod fun as we attend the NSRA Street Rod Nationals South. It is sure to be a full week of fun on the Lokar Tour and a great way to kick-off the 2008 season.

See all the latest details and updates at www.streetrodderweb.com or call the Road Tour Hotline at 1-800-664-1362. Also check the pages of Street Rodder Magazine for the full 2008 schedule. I hope to see all of you this summer on a Road Tour!

My mistake on the date, its Saturday the 26th. We could meet anywhere, might be easier to find a place on the way up to Mundelein vs Chucks. I take 355 to the end, and then its about 15-20 minutes from there. I plan on hitting Troys Monday.Always fun and inspiring. New chassis dyno and cnc center.Maybe even free food.
