old drag pics from east coast??

anybody have any pics from the late 50's early 60's of drag racing on the east coast? Most pics i've seen come from the west coast. My 32 came out of delaware/maryland (with a 1960 homebuilt title) from the way it was built I'm guessing it might have made some passes at the drag strip.

Kevin, you need to get ahold of Bruce Ferguson from the New London area. He probably has one of the largest East Coast/NorthEast drag photo collections there is. He sometimes goes to the Conn. Drag Reunion in Feb. But I might be able to dig up a phone number for him. He might, just possibly, be able to ID the car/frame if you can get him some pics of it.

 

Nice pictures the one of Eddie Sanzo's Willys P/U was at Cecil County first year out for truck, behind Sanzo's P/U is Jack Merkels GMC Suburban tow car with I believe Jacks 39 Willys coupe on the trailer. I was there with the guys from NY that ran a BM/SP MG. It made it into the SS&DI issue from that event. I now own that MG and am still looking for pictures of it. We ran Dover alot in the early to mid 60s.
The Dover reunion seems to be the same date as the GoodGuys in Rhinebeck and I live 3 miles from the fairgrounds. I did make the reunion with the car once in 98 I believe, it was great.

 

Igor I really liked your pictures of Eddie Sanzo's Willys, the Pacers and Charlie Hills "Filthy Forty" I have a car that raced at Cecil county when you took the picture of Eddies PU but I said that in a previous post. Well what is even more eerie is that I have a near exact picture of Eddies truck from the same sngle only I was standing on something. You may have been standing right next to me. If I can scan this picture I'll send it along.

New England Dragway,circa 1970. Bobby Larsens X-rated 57 Chevy. had one one of Ralph Ridgeway"s newely designed tunnel rams on it.Latter the car was put back to street trim and sold.

I still have to go thru about NINE cd's supplied to me of ALL DOVER DRAG STRIP stuff taken by T,Oshea.Better get at it . NEED somone to start a site with all this stuff....can send you the disc ! any one interested ??? have all the old decals, logos I did and a bunch of other Dover memorabilia.

 

RevKev post a pic of your car up I have access to 1000's of pics from the del/pa/nj/md drag strips 50's-60's-70's. i can try to help you out.

 

I sent that guy that was doing the Dower site a bunch of stuff a year or two ago; the site has never been upgraded. i guess he lost interst in it. Somebody ought to see if he'd let it go to them so it could get the attention it deserves.

I have no pictures, but where can I find results from the early 60's, US 30 Drag-o-way? I have a few trophies of my fathers I would like to research.

 

Yes it also ran there. This picture was sent to us by pork and he was the one that put on it that this was taken at indy in 1963. Do i have to call him and straighten him out.
