I put the front 32 bumper on today. I know it;s a tad crooked in the pics, I gotta tweak the brakets a little. I do not know if I'm totally in love them the bumpers, They look really good and are orriginals and match the car condition wise, but I think they looked cooler in my head!!! I need to back it down in the road on level ground and stand back and look. Couldn't do that today, the brakes are not hooked up.

Did you have the original Model A axle dropped or was it another year axle? Is all the other running gear stock, such as unsplit wishbones. What work was involved? Any change in how it steers?

Thanks for the comments guys. I have since installed my dropped headlight bar with some guides, I really like the way it looks now :D
Rand Man- It is an orriginal A axle I sent to Hamber 5wbomber to drop. I had to modify the spindle arms to clear when it turns. The wishbone is stock (uncut) I havn't really driven it yet, so I do not know how it steers.

    Thanks all, Chris

Thanks a lot Bruce! The bumpers didn't look as cool as I thought until I put the headlights on...now it looks exactly how I was picturing. Yeah, I'd like to look at that frame sometime. You going to Portland???

    Lookin' awesome, Chris.

The bumper, headlights and bar look killer, especially with the A grille.

Love the full fenders and hood too! I think I said that already. :D

Did you get the rear wheels and shocks yet.

    Keep postin' pics!

WannaB- havn't done the rear yet, wanting to dump the engine and ****** and install the rear all in one shot. I may pull the rear pretty soon to clean up, and I did modify the backing plates to fit the rear already!

Rolf- thanks man! Yeah, me and the A will be there, already registered ;)

How'd I miss this? It looks GREAT. I for one like the deuce bumpers. I have been debating putting bumpers back on mine. It would probbaly get the stockers back first though (they're in decent shape and paid for;)).

I actually found these two bumpers, both in Spokane from two different people. They are both orriginal and nice shape, but at the same time not 100% perfect so they kinnda match the car :D I paid 100.00 for the front, and 40.00 for the rear, so it didn't hurt too bad ;)

...Chris...I like the 32 bumpers, never cared much for the A bumpers..You're doing what I've thought about for a long time, starting with a stock A then going from there..It's like going back in time building a hot rod..Everything you're doing is lookin' really cool to me..Like those Merc caps too...

    Thanks guys.
Deedster, the day I bought this car I knew the direction I wanted to take it. This is it. Everything I have for the car is an orriginal part and matches the car quite well (with the exception of the tires and headlight bar).
I must admit I was orrginaly going to go with a flathead 8, but after driving the car stock, decidd to go with a B. Theres really no one around here that has a hopped up car like this.

    Thanks for the kind comments

Got some more done today. I started by wiring up the lights, got em working fine. Next I cut the rear bumper brackets to begine fitting the 32 bumper. Notice it's bent a little, I gotta straiten it sometime too. Then I was itchin to see what the shotty paint looked like, so out came the rubbing compound and some elbow grease. It's a really old brush job, so I wasn't exspecting much. I was surprised it shinned up so well with a quick job, I think 85% of the car will look great, the other 15% will just add character I guess :D

Also, if anyone has a decent p***anger side rear fender for this car, I could use one, mine is pretty shotty. Does not have to be perfect, but decent.
    Thanks!!! :)

    Hey Chris,

Looks SO good. I can't believe how similar we are building our cars. It would be cool to someday get some pictures of them together. The Sedan and the Coupe... Love the photos of your progress! Can't wait to see it with the rear tires on. Not a lot of updates on mine, painted the front axle and got the steering figured out recently.

Thanks Blackjack! Yeah, a photo shoot would be sweet, maybe down the road we can get togeather!! I am actually taking a break right now, pulled the rear end out last night, and am in the middle of stripping it to just the axle itself with the torque tube. Then gonna clean it up, re-seal it put it back togeather and back under the car it goes. Maybe by next weekend there will be some progress pics, we'll see how this upcoming week goes ;)
I have never messed with mechanical brakes before, kinnda goofy to get use to!!!!

That's awesome. You've got me on the hunt for a full fendered little Model A coupe now. (I've got a Sport Coupe, but it'll be fenderless.)
