when i used to manage stores for NAPA i took my outside sales guy out to lunch for his birthday and they stole my 90 chevy truck with only 12K miles on it. had to call the store to send a driver to pick us up, still pisses me off that was a good parts runner.

2 cars stolen. Both just daily drivers. I had my window busted out and radar detector stolen.
I got both cars back. Evidently they needed a ride across town and just left them. One was running in someones driveway.

Chevy power steering box from a 4-wheel drive truck(not on the truck at the time) and three bicycles in the past year. Also my sweet, cuddly, teddy bear disposition when some skanky p.o.s. keyed the factory paint on my '68 Charger!

Back in high school I had a 62 ragtop bug and someone slashed the top to take a 5 dollar equalizer that I got from a garage sale. What pissed me off the most was that they didnt try to open the door first. my passenger side didnt lock.

A new Sun tach and a 4 gauge set of new Stewart Warner gauges when I stopped at a friends house for a 1/2 hour. Wasn't even dark yet and constant traffic past his house. It was from my '66 SS396 Chevelle when the car was less than a month old.

So far...... a gas can that was full of gas, a spare tire from under my truck, and a '87 Silverado. I really miss that truck too. It only had about 30k miles at the time, a pretty decent 350, saddlebag gas tanks, and got 22 mpg. The thief obviously liked it too because he put a bunch of those parts store type decals on it, new stereo, etc and then got involved in a high speed chase with police. Insurance paid out before the cops recovered it, so I didn't try to get it back. None of the trucks I've bought since have even come close to that '87.....

If you look at some of andy southards photos, alot of which were taken on the street, you will notice that the guys in the 50's removed thier hubcaps when driving around, just using them at shows.
So I guess that you are a recipient of a traditional theft......
Does suck though, you could probably lock up that LP # so all they would be good for now is a wall hanging.

My daily 91 GMC 4X4 single cab long bed. Sunday I went out to the local mud hole and ran the piss out of it all day till it was covered in mud. I parked it that night in my apartment complex, next morning I came out to go to work only to find a dirt ring where my truck was. Cops came and got all the info and then asked me what color it was. I said to the cop " Right now it is mud brown and you can't miss it, but underneath that it is maroon and silver.". I never saw that truck again. I moved out of there 2 months later.

Radar Detector - In front of where I was dropping off parts for work, 10 feet from a manned guard shack. Guard never saw or heard a thing. Review of the tape showed the car drive up about a minute after I left the car. The passenger leaned out his window, smashed my window with a pipe reached in an grabbed it. Never even got out of the car. Tape was so poor we couldn't read the plate #. - Scrump

And don't you love the idiots who steal a $100 stereo head unit, cut the wires of the stereo which they have stolen by levering it out of the dash and cause $5k worth of damage as you have to replace the entire dashboard - happened to me twice.

I had someone steal the sub box out of the trunk of my daily driver and then they tried to pry out the radio from the dash but stopped for some reason, this all happened in my driveway at night and my car was parked behind my house we think the guy stopped doing what he was doing because my wife got up at 2am to go to the bathroom and we think he saw her turn on the lights. the cops didn't do anything about it even though there were greasy hand and fingerprints all over the car from this scumbag.

I had a bike and parts stolen many years ago, but it still makes me upset to think about it.
My wife was in the hospital dying of cancer; I came home from visiting her, on my birthday, no less, and someone had broken into my garage through the side door. I had two Kawasaki drag bikes, plus about 20K in spares and parts, plus my Laverda 750sf Italian sport bike, plus all of its spares and restoration parts. Anyway this scumbag broke in, shopped around my garage, and lifted every piece related to the Laverda, plus my beautiful Laverda. I had just taken it to its first playday/show not a month before, which is when I think someone saw it that decided they had to have it.
On top of that, the insurance company said they didn't have to replace it, only to give me average market price. I took a beating on it.

    Now thats fuckin wrong!
are you putting pressure on your local LEO?
if they got all the evidence why are they waiting so long?
maybe you need to ask for the information , so you can show em how to deal with this.
