Axle, I just want to say thanks for all the hard work putting the car show together. I know there was some stuff going on just after last years show and I just wanted to say thanks for sifting through that and gettin' it done. My wife and I flew in just for the car show last year and we had a blast!!! I couldn't believe all the badass rides we saw, I hated to leave, I friggin can't wait for this year. See ya there!!!! Thanks for the positive feedback. The car show will remain at ground level and the entire lot will be completely fenced off. As previously mentioned, we are proud to announce that live bands will be returning along with DJ's. Special guests,special displays over 50 vendors, close to 1000 cars,and much more. The PPE will be there a long with a few newly built cars in the Shifters corral. By the looks of it we are going to have a "Cackle fest" with a few drag cars that will be part of the special show.


Again, there are rooms still left at the Orleans Hotel & Casino. There is still room left at the car show BUT space is filling up fast! If you plan on attending with a car register soon!


Ollin, Congrats on your Hot Rod. The workmanship you have put in to the car is really nice & tastefully done !

yeah, I had read that they are going to require wristbands for the car show this year.

My question is will there be a car show only wristband or not?

 

*From the VLV web site

• All cars must be pre-registered.
• Cars may only be registered by those purchasing VLV11 wristbands.
• The car show is on Saturday April 12, 2008, from 9:00AM – 4:00PM.
• Pre-registered cars will be allowed to park in the lot from Thursday onwards.
• Outside the car show hours, pedestrian access will be restricted to those with VLV wristbands only.

Pedestrians will have free access to the car show 8am – 5pm on the Saturday.

Leaving Two Weeks from today ! !

I am so ready for a vacation..........with cars...........and girls in dresses wearing stocking & garters..........and cocktails.....

We're leaving two weeks from today as well. Taking the 41 Ford Pick up, and the 36 Ford three winder !

This time in two weeks Johnnie & I will be sipping on a couple of cold ones in the parking lot !

Can't wait.

People are still registering cars as late as this morning. Keepem coming fella's !

 

We have a group of 12 coming from Michigan. Flying out the 9th. It will be our first time out to VIVA. We are ready for some warm weather!

 

VIva is a scene now. not a show.

 

Pabst is now sponsoring the shifters car show or something like that. they will be selling 2.50 pabst.

I made a comment about Viva being a scene not a show. On the other had, I would like to commend the SHifters for their efforts on trying to make it better. Regardless, its still a successful and one of the most sought after car shows. Good job boys

Only 2 weeks away! I still have to rebuild my rear brakes, register/insurance, make a gas pedal, and button up a few other odds and ends....damn im cutting it pretty close!

 

with out a doubt, the efforts of Tom & Axle should be commended.
I'm just getting old, and never want to see VLV compared to a star trek convention.

 

I got in to this shit 26 years ago when i got my first old car then saw bands like Jimmy & the Mustangs , Stray Cats,and of course cousin James Intveld. I've seen people come & go through the years but you can bet i'll be in to this 26 years from now ! A scene? A lifestyle? A fad? A movement?......call it what you want.....as it's all i know !

from the email i get about vlv...

i can not remember what the beers were last year at the show but that is a nice price i would think....normally i was packing though to keep the costs of booze down. I am cheap like that.

about vlv being a scene now...yeah, it is. but it is still fun. it is sort alike your favorite band that you discovered moving on to a large record label and everyone liking them. if you are a fan of them you still enjoy them while others kick and scream that they sold out.
