It is definately channeled. I've had mine laid out on the lift, and the suspension would let it lay rocker if the framerails didn't stop it first. The front is a different story even channelled you'll never get it down hard without reworking the front crossmember. Meaning move the engine up. Then if you move the engine up you can't get the driveshaft to shoot through the "X" frame.
haha, i never even saw the last old posts to this thread, that's my old car, not channeled or anything, just the right lean with the hydros to dump it in the dirt.
Damn Ray you are right, I went and re-looked, its jacked-up on the left side. Ha, freaking perspective. I knew there was no way to get a Rivi that low without channeling or something drastic.
Pics of '63-'65 Riv's.......well o.k. I guess I can contribute..... Here's mine.... And just a few more I have on file..... My favorite Riv ! I love the taillights on this one. Only "convertible" Riv I've seen. I could do whith out the body color trim though...
Man! There are some bad-ass Rivs in this posting. Once I figure out how to post pics now I will of my 64 in the works. Got it stock last year and now it has Astros with whites. Stock height now, but want to lower it. Thinking of cutting springs all the way around but not sure how many coils to go before it is too much. I was thinking of starting with half coil or one whole. Any suggestions? Ok. I think I got the pic thing figured out now. Here is one the day I brought her home (STOCK).
I cut 1 and 1/2 out of the front and 1 out of the rear. The back needs to come down a little more. It sits pretty damn low... almost too low, but I like it
This one's for sale on the Dallas Craigslist right now. He wants $4750 for it.....and no it's not mine.
I just got this Rivi from Stlouis gasser here on the HAMB. I love it. I plan on pulling my dragster with it.
It's pretty straightforward. The front is approx 2:1 ratio. Cut 1" of vertical height from the bottom (not flat part) of the spring and it will lower the front by 2". Rear is 1:1 so 1" of vertical height will lower back 1". I've always cut from the top, you lose the pigtail but I've never had a problem.
I did one a few years ago, it was on cover of Custom Rodder and in Hot Rod...but it has billet stuff and an LS1 so I don't think its right for this site...
Cover of custom rodder ? Which Riv is yours ? I got a whole bunch of Custom Rodder mags, now I'm curious. Couple more pics :
there is not a car in the world that looks better with astros and pinner whites. ive always wanted to do one with astros and vogue tires. ya know the tires with the pinner white and the yellow stripe ya know mustard and mayo
