  5. Any info on this chassis? Looks sort of like a picture I've seen of one that used to run here in Kansas. Was supposed to be one of a handful of Chassis Research rear engine chassis. I've talked to thw owner who says his grandson has it now. I've not been able to see it in person... yet.

  17. Fire burnouts.....where have they gone? Well, I am not sure. However, my team is planning on doing some in the near future. We'll see how we do..If they work out, they'll be some great photos.

This is a great pic of "Wild" Bill Alexander driving the Ernies camera shop Pontiac AA/Fueler. This car was destroyed in '63 at San Fernando. Was recreated with its original engine about 5 years back. Beautiful car. Steve Barcak www.pontiacheaven.org

Insurance regulations, plus racers got tired of having to repair/repaint their cars from fire damage.

Not totally sure on this but I think I remember Gene Snow's Rambunctious funny car ran at the Nationals in 65 or 66 in B or C/FD because NHRA did not have a specific funny car class then.Think he won the class and might have even won Comp Eliminator.Arm on the door is great.
Great shot of Willie pushing the Winged Express.Think that was the era where if your competion broke or whatever,as long as you could get your car through the top end lights, you won.Think there is a famous photo of Jack Jones? pushing his rail.
Royalshifter keeps coming up with great shots.Thanks.
