congrats man! my boss and i were talking about your car today, actually. i am in the process of building a 51 kaiser traveler 2-door for a guy. again, great work!
Ya nailed it. I have spoke with a few guys in tha past and the Kaiser has always been mentioned in passing. A kinda "What If" car. Love the lines and beltline looks really good. The most amazing thing to me is how the hood fits into it all. The hood looks so beefy and HUGE, but it works with what you have done here. Call me crazy, from the front I see a Hirohata Merc look as well- anybody else see it??
I really like your car! More of a hot rod feel than mine. I really like the way your rear wheel wells came out. I've had my car for about 10 years now but most of the work was done in the last three or so. I'm the second owner, so the car was unmolested when I got it. Not anymore...
Damn 50Kaiser we are almost building the same car yet with a totally different vibe. How much chop did you do, looks like 4-5" to me. Is it bagged? Original frame? I like how these cars look with the rockers parallel to the ground. That blue one from Canada is well-built but IMO the rake kills the natural lines of the car. It has a great flow when you let the lines drop off towards the back of the car. Take care. -Keith
Congrats, I checked it out pretty close when I got the magazine in the mail and it is a sweet looking ride and man what a lot of work you have put into it.
Bitchin' custom, great skills...congrats! I was reminded of this one, thought you'd like to check it out. I don't know a thing about it other than a Socal event in late '03 or early '04.
Hey Keith, She's chopped 3 1/2 inches, bagged on the original frame. I like these cars laid flat, save the rake for pro street. I can appreciate the work put into the Canadian car, but it's a little too techno rod for me. My car's been a garage queen since the suspension work, no motor, no trans, needs fuel and brake lines, and wiring. The devil's in the details... -Tom
saw that mag the other day and thought that it was sick. nice car dude. the lines are sssssssssmmmmoooooooootttttttthhhhhhhhhhhh
Did ya ever finish your Kaiser? I'm usually not into customs but yours is definately a head turner.[for all the good reasons] I'm sure there are many hambers besides myself who would love to see progress pictures of your ride.
I am still working on it, but unfortunately everything I am doing to it is mechanical and not aesthetic so there is not much to show. I have been driving it a lot lately so I decided to go back through the mechanicals since some of it was hastily done (I was excited to start driving it!). I have built new gas tank straps, installed a charcoal canister, put in new plugs and Taylor wires, removed the cop car oil cooler, and done lots of other little stuff that seems to take forever. I have also been pursuing sponsorships. Borla is going to provide a catback and headers, and I am working on Coker, Painless, and trying to find some electric cutouts. In the meantime I have met a bunch of cool car guys due to the magazine exposure and driving my car around alot more. One of them is Brian at Problem Child Kustoms, he's going to help me render up some paint schemes, so I'll post those here when they are done. I also met Craig Pike who has a website called myrideisme.com. You can see a bunch of pics of the car on his site here: http://www.myrideisme.com/Garage/NTAPHSE/520
Ever since I saw one of those I thought theyd make a killer custom. You show the world that is true. Beautiful car, deserved recognition.
I like Cadzilla better. Im just messin with ya! I saw that at dad's house and thought "why didn't I think of that?" Really cool car, congrats!
It's gonna be teal with a seismograph stripe. Whole '80's theme we're cookin' up. Seriously, though, great car, cool owner... can't wait to jump on the drawings... the car has great liness, and the proportions are killer. I've walked around and studied the car top to bottom, and I can't get enough of this monster.
Hey there you are! I can't wait to put some lightning bolts down the side of this thing, I'm thinking pale pink over turquoise should do the trick. That or some exposed circuit boards with the paint peeling off, think you can render that?
that is a bitchin ride!!!! im still looking at it thinking ......WOW, i tell you what, if you keep up the hard work and finish it in the traditional style, that car will make you famous. and i would rank it up there with the Dunn shoebox, and Hirohata Merc. that is some fine craftsmanship and a lot of love going into it.
Holy crap, those are some big words! I truly appreciate the compliments and motivation to work my ass off and finish it. I do hope that this car will be a business card of sorts if and when I decide to do work for other people.
