Glad you're ok, really sucks about your car. It really doesn't seem to matter what the vehicle is, people are always gonna say they didn't see it (like that makes it better). My pops used to drive a Class 8 tractor on the public roads and he was amazed at how people in a smaller vehicle could 'not see' a truck that is 4 or 5 times as big as they are (even without the trailer).
Panels are easier to fix or replace than limbs. Glad your OK Don and hope all goes well in the ressurection of one of the coolest driven 32's. I guess when rebuilt Carps will be back to ride around in version 2 and regale us with stories of travelling the countryside in it.
Don, I'm glad you weren't hurt. I am an avid viewer of your web page and have loved this car since first seeing pics of it when you first got it. But this really sucks. I hope you make his insurance pay the price! I hope they discover the value of true patina? Priceless!!!!!!!
Trust me!! You have got to go to the doctor, it doesn't matter how good you feel now you could start to get some pain a few weeks from now. My wife was in an accident 2 years ago and still can't sleep at night, she said she was fine after the accident too. AND pray to all thing's holy that they don't have Progressive. If nobody believes in the devil the have never delt with progressive.
People are sooo fuckin' ignorant. I drive for a living, so I see stupid shit all the time. Last summer, I'm driving my bright yellow 57 chevy with 1 turquois fender and no hood down the neighborhood street with open headers.... In other words, "how could you not see it?" Idiot in a BMW stops at the inersection, looks right at me, and drives on thru... I nail the brakes, screeching tires. Idiot looks at me with one of those "OMG" expressions, nails the gas, spins it around, and drops it into a ditch. [about 6 feet deep] I stoped to make sure he was alive, then just drove away... Serves him right. Glad your OK.
Don. I,m glad that you are OK but as everyone has said,Go to the Doctor. The car can be fixed and I,m sure Cal can straighten it. Post a list of the parts you need and I,ll see what I can round up.
I never know what to say at times like this. You'll get it fixed back up but I believe that "funky" paint was important to you because you know it's history. (it would be to me) My heart goes out to you because that can't be duplicated. Just think of it as another chapter in the life of an old hot rod.
Glad to hear you are "ok". It certainly could have been alot worse. I felt sick when I saw the thread title, and the pics didn't help any. I hope everything works out for you.
You've got a good attitude about all this Don. I'm very sorry for your car, I hope today gets better. Let us know if we can help in any way.
Glad you are OK. The old Deuce will rise again but it sure hurts to look at it like that. That's the only down side to driving a hot rod, you have to share the roads with idiots. My wife and I did 5200 miles to the Roadster Show last summer and were all over LA in our roadster with no close calls, but shit can happen. When we got home I hugged her and said "We survived the trip" because you never know what can happen out on the road.
that just sucks.. poor thing looks dejected. glad to know you were not hurt in the altercation. It would have taken all i had not to slam that ass holes face into the grill of my car all the time yelling .."SEE IT? SEE IT?" these distracted drivers, and yahoos that make turns from a lane other than the direction it is ment to be traveled in. Are the ass wipes that need to foot the entire bill for their ignorance.
that thing can't be saved...I'll take it In all seriousness, I'm glad you are ok and wish you the best of luck getting all the insurance crap taken care of. You have an ordeal ahead of you..but I'm sure you'll be back on the road soon.
man i'm sorry top see this.i was hoping that it was a screwed up photoshop picture.if you need an apraisal, for the insurance,on parts let me know. -danny
FWIW Don...I'll bet the Deuce Club can collectively come up with some replacement parts...let us know what you need. Sorry for your pain...
Wow! That is like my favorite 32 on the planet! Yours too I'll bet. That sucks! I would be in jail for murder!!!
Don,,,I'm not trying to throw fuel on the fire,,,but I'll trade ya a driveable glass 32 Roadster for that ol' bent up ol'heap of yours,,, Personally,,,you have dealt with this accident in a mature way,,,,if I were in your place I would hope I could control myself in the same manner,,,I wish you all the best in setteling this matter with the other partys insurance company. HRP
Man I'm so sick after looking at those pictures. I'm glad you're OK though, that's the most important thing. The car's fixable. Good to you.
Glad your ok but what a shame. I don't normally like "fake" patina but I have matched the patina on an old ford before to preserve as much as possible. I think seriously about it in this case, once it's painted the car won't ever be the same.
Ah, that sucks. Sad thing is, if you drive 'em, there's always a chance some idiot will drive in to you. It's happened a couple of times to me, but you fix 'em up and keep driving 'em. No point having a nice car just sitting in the shed gathering dust.
Dam man.........just opened this thread up.........that car was one of my favorites, having been hit in my roadster last year, i kow how ya feel.
man,my stomach just turned over looking at the pics, stay with it and fix it back were it should be,good luck richie.................
Man glad you are ok. It will be interesting to see how this all pans out with the insurance. I always worry about something like this happening. Not too much though for me because there are a million trucks like mine but good parts for your car is a little hard to come by. Can you get repop parts to repair it? Will you repair it yourself?
Hi Don, sorry to see the outcome of our fantastic fellow So Cal drivers, always a fear nowadays with no one taking notice while they are driving, glad your OK . If there is anything we can do to help give me a call. Best wishes for a speedy recovery of your Deuce. Steve
Don My heart just broke looking at the pictures. It is a blessing that your Ok, the Roadster can be repaired. I had a wreck years ago and he had good insurance. The mistake that I made, I started doing the repairs before we settled on the final number. I ended up losing $$$ on the deal. I pray that no one has to go through this. If I have to go through it again, I will not touch my car, let them pay storage until I have settled on everything. If you need help let us know. I'll do what I can to help. Happy Trails, Mick
Well Don, I can't say anything that hasn't already been said, sorry about your car, really glad your doing alright,.... could have been a lot worse. I'll go along with what "No Window, Flathead, Brookville, Mile High, No Coupe Larry" said ,..... If I can help, I'm in.
when you fix it back up...put some loud ass pipes on it. if there is a "next" time ..tell the cop the guy was not only phuckin blind hes deaf too!
