I'm 37, married, and have 3 kids. I live in Maryland and work as a systems engineer near D.C. I've been into cars since I was a teen. My father is an old-style hot-rodder from New England and I caught the bug from him. I have a '31 Ford Coupe, 283, 4" chop, 4" channel. It had the standard 1x4 carb setup until 2006 when I began working on getting my Hilborn setup streetable (almost there). I've had the car for about 15 years. The car has made 4 trips up and back to the Boston area (driven, not trailered) and can usually be seen at the Street Rod Nationals in York, PA. So that's my story in a nutshell. I started searching for information to help get the Hilborn ready and was lead back to the H.A.M.B a few times and figured I would join. Jay
Welcome aboard...I think you'll find this community and site very enjoyable and quite addictive...I'm a native Maryland Eastern Shoreman who now lives in Michigan working in the car industry. Maryland is a great place to be a car nut...you're within driving distance of many events along the eastern seaboard.
Jay, that's one hell of a drive from 140 to the DC area. Welcome from Baltimore beltway....Parkville specifically
Thanks everyone for the welcomes. Yeah, it takes me about an hour to get in (I leave at 4:30am) and about an hour and a half to get home. I actually work in Greenbelt, so its not ALL the way into D.C., but close enough. Jay
Welcome, Jay, from Southern Maryland. Good to have you here. You'll enjoy every minute on the H.A.M.B..........Don.
Here you go. These are some pics my dad posted on another site last year, but they give you the idea. Jay
Welcome! I live in F'fax and work in Crystal City. Are you familiar with the Jalopy Showdown- just over the border in PA? It's Saturday, 17 May. Save the date.
Thanks! The heads are Corvette FI double hump heads with 2.02 valves. The tranny is an M21 close ratio. The 283 is bored to 4" with pop-up pistons. Jay

Odd to say hey here since you're just down the road from me. I'm a couple miles up 140 at Old Baltimore. Give a shout anytime.
