Might be a bit too early for this, but have any of you that have sold at this event ever camped out there? I have a 10 X 20 canopy tent, and some random stuff that someone might give a dollar or two for, but am wondering about camping out there. I've seen on other sites a rumor about shower facilities on site. Anyone else done or planning on this?
I used to go, but we were in a motel, I do remember showers, I think for the nascar pit crews- depends on where your spot is , and if it rains... Some times our spot was under a couple inches of water all meet.
Folks camp on their spots ... no problem I did for years. Then I bought a Motor Home ... now I just stay in a Motel ... A bunch of us have spots in the Blue Field and hang out together ... ( spot marked on the above map ) ... some tent camp, some have campers and some of us go to the Motel. Some even go home as they live nearby.
What day do the HAMBers arrive at the Charlotte show? I would like to meet you guys! I will be coming from Raleigh
I cannot speak for the entire group, but MOST of the HAMB Village residents are on their spots by Thursday afternoon. They are into the " Adult Beverages " by then also My spots are directly accross the pavement from Frank and the gang ... Unfortunately, We are known as the Diet Coke side
Damn, the HAMBer's have been right behind me all these years! I've had 2 car corral spaces just coming out of turn 2 on the back straight for 15 years or so.
I have 5 spaces ( had 6 until last year ) and Modifieddriver has something like 10 or so ... Jump the fence and come visit ...
I must've been sleeping, I didn't see this thread until this morning . The HAMB Village location has been exposed thanks to Deuce Roadster and the Jalopy Journal Aerial Surveillance Satellite. I have 13 spaces and I'm "SOLD OUT". Most of us camp out on site. At the end of the L--o--n--g day most of us stay there 'cause we can't find a designated driver to chauffeur us outa' the joint. There's real nice shower facilities just a short distance away. Last year we made it on the Charlotte evening news broadcast . There'll be a Hollywood reality film crew on site this year taking shots for the "The HAMB VILLAGE" production. Let's see, the cast of characters includes: Modifieddriver, Dirty Doug, NVRA 84, 34Fode, Tudor, ****** Knuckles, Krusty 40, LMS01, Belton Boys, Charlie, Kellettman, and ...... straight from an appearance at the Lanier, GA Swap Meet, the "Ugly Brothers". Stop on by and buy!!! BYOB. We'll need to sell as much as we can to buy adult beverages and other healthy food delights to sustain the cast for the show. NVRA84 is our on site chef. He'll even have a printed menu of the gourmet specialties he will be preparing for the production crew. Parts drop off storage space is available (fee is a modest 12 oz. cold adult beverage ).
To para phase Buffett "It's always Noon Somewhere" Come on by and visit. we're down where the rows start on the tripple letters. Pole dancers needed for after diner entertainment. (Still going to wait till the Fall PBRmeASAP)
WOW ... I was a few short on the count. I knew you had quite a few ... Also, fellow HAMBer **** Spadaro has spots just up the hill and over a little. HotrodPrimer, 3 Deuces and other HAMB folks stop by and have visiting roles in the Hamb saga. Randy
I'll be sure and 'scoot' on by. If you see a 'big' guy running around on a burgundy handicapped scooter, that's me. (Yes, I'm truly handicapped, long story)
woooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooo here we come!!!!! I am bringing a newbie with a bunch of fresh parts
April 3, 4, 5 , & 6, 2008 But Sunday is a dead deal day ... all the good stuff is either sold, loaded up and went home ... or priced @ 3 times it' real value IMHO.
My car corral spaces are 3660-3661, on the back straight just off turn 2. I'll have my 04 red GMC PU in one and my 65 Catalina 2 dr Sedan in the other if I don't sell it locally before then. I'll be running around on my burgundy handicapped scooter. Stop me and say hi. Jerry
Extended forecast calls for OK weather Thursday and Saturday, but Thundershowers on Friday. That would be better than some years.
NO promises ... but I will look and see ... if I have a spare set. Had 8 or 10 sets at one time ... sold/traded and used into the supply. NO brake drums I know for sure. I had to buy a NOS set for my roadster a year or so ago Will look Tuesday when I am in the barn.
Randy - and don't forget my grille shell!!! I will bring the money!!!! Ha ha - -just kidding - Thanks for looking for the brakes. I did land some backing plates yesterday - so really just need the hubs now!!
I'll be there Thursday til Saturday.I'm into meeting some of you guys and drinking some beers. This is my first time down there for a swap meet. What should I expect?I'll be bringing some stuff with to sell.
