I figured it was time to post this, I have been building it for the last 15 months. (The entire build can be seen on our club site. You will need to register to see the pics) As some may remember I sold my green A sedan and had planned on building an A roadster but as luck would have it I sold the sedan for a little more than I expected and figured I better take the opportunity to get a 32. Something I NEVER thought I would have. Once I made the decision to go with a 32 I had a hell of a time trying to decide what style I wanted. I original had planned on a 365 Caddy and a 50s looking build. Then I got my copy of TRJ #32 and flipped it open to the Pete Henderson Roadster. It took about one second to decide that was the direction I was going. While it is by no means a clone it is the car that inspired the build. It is a Brookville body on an original frame with a 38 PU x-member and model A cross members which I all painted in single stage black. I am running a 3" chopped windscreen and the top is still in the works but I plan to have it on before Bonneville. The engine is a 59AB with a Merc crank, 400jr cam, Thickstun intake and chrome 97s and chrome heads. I also whittled away a bunch of the flywheel which really makes it wrap up quick. It is running a 39 ****** and a Rodsville quickchange. The hood is made up of Rootlieb tops with original 20 louver sides (THANKS CLARK!) The interior is from Lebaron Bonney. I had planned on using original frame and springs but sat way to high above the windshield so Jay Peterson of Jays Hot Rod Upholstery just out side of Rochester, Mn whipped up a custom seat and covered it with the Lebaron Bonney leather. I also cut down a 40 Merc dash and used a 46 Lincoln wheel. Im sure there is a bunch of **** I left out but you can find details about it on the build blog or just ask. I have to also have to add that the HAMB as well as my son have been a big help in this build. So THANK YOU!
Do you have a picture of the seat? I'm having the same problem with my roadster seat. At 6'1.5" my coconut sits above the windshield
beautiful car, you are the third guy on the entire HAMB to have those center caps.I had a set on my model A coupe untill recently i changed my wheels, there's another roadster on here with them, now yours ,How long have you had them? they are very good looking! Fit he car well, very nice job.
I actually just got the caps off Ebay....I wanted them from the start but could not justify the $'s. I have a set of the Sellers ones too that I had but they do not have provisions for mounting them to the wheel. I ended up cutting up some original caps and using the mounting ring off them but was not sure if they would stay on.
It's ***s Tim..........you really kicked *** on this project. It will be a year next month that we drove to Ohio and picked up the body!!
