people are nutty about GTOs. the vin number and trim tag are worth money all by themselves. .

I bet thet rusted mess would bring 1500 bucks. more if it has the original motor. GTO guys are all about date codes and all that. correct rear end, trans, every little bracket and nut and bolt is worth something to someone.

i say go back every 6 months for the rest of your life and take a picture of each one while standing in the exact spot. when you are 80 you can have a slide show and watch them slowly disappear into the ground

I'm a huge '57 150 fan...look on the ground and see if maybe the trim is there, see if it's got the heater, clock and radio delete, and walk away from the rest. It's a 6cylinder, the trans isn't worth anything, and the frame is probably rusted to oblivion.

The SS396 and the GTO would be worth grabbing--any trim on them will go on ebay, and more importantly, if you've got the time, stupid little stuff like brackets, clips, etc.

I don't see anything worth building, but there are enough good parts there to provide a nice income on ebay for quite a while.

I'm afraid the truck isn't in as good of shape as it seems. I was trying to not post too many pictures and left this one out.

I'd love to know what that truck hit to miss the bumper and hood but knock the fender/grille back that far. Its bed is a little rough and the cab has the usual rust in the steps, corners, and floor, but I have a '56 that I'm fixing up, so it will likely donate its doors, steering wheel, and dash to my truck.

Also, I was in a hurry when I was leaving, so I didn't get a chance to look it over, but he had a '71-'73 Riviera in front of his building that looked like it was in good shape. I don't particularly care much for that body style, but if it's as nice as it looked, it would be a good car to flip on eBay. And get this! I had my friend there with me, and he was talking to a guy that works for the owner who happened to mention that there are Model A's and other old cars out back that have been there so long the hill has started burying them. Apparently he's been there since 1947, so there's a good chance this is true. Going to go back when it's not raining and take a good look around. Will definitely let y'all know if that turns out to be true.

I agree, the cars will bring real money. but it will be from someone buying them for the ***les and trim tags, especially if the engines match. Someone would do a "rebody" in a flash with the gto and ss, Its to the point where I wonder if any musclecar is "real" Makes me sick when I think of the cars we parted at my uncles wrecking yard.

    VERY very true.

  17. The Galaxie is a 64, all the convertible stuff is worth good money if not all rusted away. the XL trim stainless in and out is good too.

If the Falcon is a v8 car, all the engine mounts, rear end, etc are worth dough, as well as bucket seats, and trim.

Check the engine code on the door tag of the Tbird. 428's were in them and the code is a Q.
I believe 67 and 68 had them as an option, then the later ones had the 429.
Theres not much else on that worth anything.

The GM guys are covering all them, and I do not know alot about that number stuff on those cars. i do know they all have good parts.

If you had to pay $200 a car, you would sell way more in parts from each and crush what is left for close to what you paid.

So you guys think it would be wrong for me to get all of the VIN-specific parts off of the cars and sell them so somebody could have a "real" SS or something? If you think that's the same thing as cloning, then I won't do it. I'm not in this hobby for the money.

Also, since no one's really said anything about the Continental I mentioned, I'll bring it up again. The guy has a '65 that his wife used to drive until she died and he parked it (plate says '90). The hood is getting some cancer in its frame and has a few 1/4" holes of rust in it, both left doors have some cancer holes about 3" above the bottom and either have to be patched or replaced, as well as the small section of the 1/4 panel between the back door and wheel well. The interior is pretty much shot from sun damage, and the trunk lid is almost gone, so the pan is likely rotten as well. It looks a lot better than I'm making it sound, but then again, you know how deceiving rust can be.

Would you guys take the $1500 I have right now and get all the rust fixed on the cab of my '56 Chevy or would you offer the guy $800 for the Conty and try to fix that up. I know they only sell for about 4 or 5 grand on eBay, but I love the way that thing looks.

The good think about Pontiacs is you cant Fake them. You can send 35.00 into PHS & get the original Order Sheets, options, price, where they were delivered and the invoice price. Unlike the Chevy, a warehouse fire took out all their records......making EVERY car an SS or 69 Z28.

Yes sir! I love hotrods as well deep down inside :) Jeeps come first though

  25. I would not get in love with the lincoln. If it is rusty..and been sitting, it is pretty much junk.
Those cars are so soft as sellers, and parts do not sell either.
Also, everything is vacuum operated inside and that is a nightmare in itself (lots of hoses) to replace to get stuff working.
I would not pay $800 for it. Maybe 3 or 400.
If you are buying it to fix and keep, it might be cheap enough to fix up. If you are buying to sell, I think you will lose your ****.
Buy 3 or 4 of those other junkers for the same money and you WILL make 4,000 out of the parts, etc.

I have a 64 Lincoln that is pretty clean and rust free as they get. I have not sold one piece from it. I even offered up stuff for free to a kid..he never took the parts.

I will pull off stuff to sell and it will get squished..

Thanks, I wasn't looking to sell the Lincoln, I know at best I would come out even, I would just love to have one to cruise around in. Had no idea about the vacuum operated accessories on those things. Glad you told me, I loathe vacuum-controlled parts. Pity you're in CA. If you had parts for the Continental I probably would consider getting it, but after hearing what you said, maybe I should just p*** on it.

The 57 Chevy would probably make a cool vintage stock car body. Most of those guys only use the body skins anyway...so the rusted floorboards and rockers don't matter.
