Some info from a friend that raced out of S&S:

"Mousie Brown was a mechanic at Rosenthal Chevrolet in Arlington, Va. where Gene Altizer was shop foreman.
He always ran 409 type late model cars in S/S and A/S (looks like an A/Stocker here). He ran mostly at local tracks during the days when stockers were not always 100% stock, if you know what I mean. He later moved to North Carolina and has since passed away.
Sorry I can't be of more help. Mousie was a good racer and quite a character!"

Finally got a picture of the Northwind for those that are interested. Not sure of the story behind this picture but it was supposed to have been takin in Waynesboro, PA in what i'm guessing is the early 1970's. Will get more info on this later.

  9. Here's some more shots of the fuel injected stocker "Inbomber" I gathered. Still looking for any more history or photos on the car. The B&W photos are 1968, color 1969.

Wow! What a great photo of the Northwind in it's later years. Really a shame that one didn't survive. Thanks for posting that.

Wow, that "Corruptors Pup is the same type car I'm building with my Dart! I've always liked Charlie Allen, Dick landy, and Bud Faubel's '66 funny's , and I had a "65 Dart racer so I got '66 fenders, stretched the nose 10", and am building my own altered/stretched fenders for it (in carbon fiber). I'm going to run and injected Max Wedge instead of a Hemi, though. Any more shots of that one or others like it?

    Good start, funnycar65!
Looks like that Dodge Fever Dart was someone's old funny; that name is a take off of Dodge's ad campain in '67, or was it '68? With the Super Bee logo on the fenders I think that dates it at '68; am I right?

    Verne,

The Flying Jet is the real thing. The car is long gone however.

Do any of the MoPar experts know more about this car?

    hello,
this thread has been great so far, i remember a lot of these cars. i"ll throw one into the mix--does anyone have pics or info on a '62 bubbletop from the DFW area driven by Roger Caster. was sponsored by friendly chevrolet (maybe steakley-CRS is actin' up).bought by a friend about 1969 and street driven with a 350. i lost track of the car about 1973. anyone know if Roger is still with us, i used to hang with his younger brother but lost track othem both when i moved.
don't want to get the thread off base, but also looking for any info on the 55 chevy driven by james brown in the mid 60's--the Morbec
    Mastermag Special.
thanks for any info you may have,
    steve

Any info or ideas on the history of "V.I.P. Bad Hombre 50" Thunderbolt? It was an automatic car and possibly the one delivered to Southside Ford in Chicago.

Car was out of Chicago and ran out at US-30 Gary, the owner was known as "Pop's".

Terry Brooks was a Mid West Drags reporter. Charle Ross and Pop's may be one and the same. Scans are from Mid West Drags, June and July 1965.

How about "Grubby" Jack Bochler, he also raced a T-Bolt out of Chicago back then too. I think I have some pictures somewhere.

    Regards,
    Dennis

I had a bunch of them, Larsen Ford with Billy Kolb driving from '64, Dobbs Ferry Ford (can't remember that guys name) And another from Lebanon with some guy named Elwood Baker driving. Some '63 lightweight Galaxies too, nd all my photos came up missing during the move to Bowling Green from Tulsa! Still looking but its getting pretty bleak. Thing was, I told the movers I really didn't care about much that I owned, except the photos were irreplaceable.
