According to the number of hits I am getting on album #2 this is your favorite photo for that album. Yes, this guy was actually movin' and cruisin! http://www.pbase.com/image/95204697 Ken
can someone post some more info on that thing and some pics if you have them. Shaved rockers if i remember right?
And sounds weird at that! I am very impressed at how even the car is sitting that low. The owner must have fine tuned it! Ken
I don't get it. Seems like it would be just as low, look a damn sight better, and be a whole lot more practical with about a four inch body section instead of modifying the ch***is to s****e or nearly s****e the ground. Of course, it would probably take a hell of a lot more work to get there with a section job than doing ch***is mods, and while you were doing it you'd probably not stop until it was nosed and decked, had frenched lights and grille, fadaways, and maybe rolled pans. Oh well, if we all had the vision and craftsmanship of Sam Barris we wouldn't respect him for being the genius he was.
Wow!!! was the 1st thing i said... You will not hear anything negative from me... I love it... Low and slow.... VERY NICE! ! ! ! !
Too bad when it's rollin down the road it looks like a 4x4! It looks great parked and there, when he's cruising through a show, but usually sits about 5-6" higher on the road. Guess he was only concerned with how he looked parked. Other than that,I like it! The front is where I got the idea NOT to french my lights, and to put the stock grill back on. It's definately unique!
That's a really nice car. I don't think it needs to be that low to look good. In fact, it kinda takes away from it. Overkill is a bad thing.
At least I feel a little better knowing that there are mercs out there that do not have perfect fit lines. looks ridiculous THAT low. oh well, not my car, not my problem. tok
I cant believe what I am reading...car too low?! That is like that car is too fast or that girl is too pretty. I hope he didn't cut the rockers...I would like to believe he ground off from s****ing on the road. The car looks sick.
Its shock value. Woohoo. It doesnt look good at all IMO, its a waste of a Merc. Take all the good looking Mercs out there...notable customs. Then this thing that looks like a shell sitting on the ground with no frame. Is that cool? Why not just take the tires off and ride around all day on the brake drums. That dumb*** chain steering wheel looks right at home in that Merc unfortunately. Maybe put some TVs in it next.
Well ****, the things on bags issnt it? He can raise it up if he wanted right? I dont see what everyones freaking out about. I just wouldnt drive one that low because s****ing and denting the hell out of the bottom of my car doesnt sound like a good idea.
there were so many street rods at the show - this merc was nice to see. it's absurdly low, but it's not like it had a huge chevy "heartbeat" all over it or something. cool car IMO.
The rockers were removed, the bottom of the front fenders, and the bottom of the rear quarters. Making the whole side of the car the same height as the bumpers. You've guys seen mine. I like the 50's style ,taildragger look. don't know if you can tell in this pic...
maybe he was missing the bottom three inches when he got it and figured it would be too much trouble to fix it... i like the car...
