Just wanted to see if you knew I was still on here Chris......

  2. The "Urban Music Festival" thing was entertaining.

I was out on 6th street with Noteboom and Gambino spectating it. Probably 30,000 or 40,000 people, couple thousand crotchrocket sport bikes plus donks & boxes & bubbles. All of a sudden some kind of commotion broke out and a couple hundred people yelling and stampeding like crazy. At that point you don't ask any questions, you just run in whatever direction the crowd is going, even if (especially if?) you're a middle aged white guy. After about 15 seconds it just sorta ended. Still don't know what that was all about.

Maybe they saw "Stoner" coming at them and thought it was the devil. You know how deem folk react to that shit. KNUX!

For the most part I had fun at the party( though I got there late), and it was nice meeting you at Central Jesse.

That was definately some good stuff to check out...

Later that evening (after a couple drinks) i decided to go outside to find some sista's to sneak upstairs and add some flava to the party-- you know, because a tall, ugly white dude must be so attractive to black cuties about 15 years younger, lol...

Anyway, I found a stumbling short skirt who walked up me and slurred something to me. Being the playa that i am (lol) i pulled the "wanna come upstairs to our private party" line and had her and her friend on the path towards the door.

But.... i was then approached by her male friends and encountered a firm "wasss up partna!" (that's my best effort at typing "partner" in ebonics.) After thinking one second of coming up with a smart assed reply-- i figured it wouldnt be fun to get beat down by him and his posse, replied "nothins up patna" and let him have his ladies back.

Don't hate the playa, hate the lack of game.

Thanks to the Garage crew, A.S.S., Jesse, etc for having us out there. You guys treated us well and we'll return the favor when you make it up to the bay.

well hopefully im not speaking out of term, but iwasnt too thrilled with the party......... took us forever to find the place (only cause i dont know austin too well) but when we (the wife, kid and i) finally did get there everyone was stepping on the poor kid. Jesse was holed up in the office & i kinda wanted to get a pic of Jesse and my lil boy (whos name is also Jesse James) and when i politely asked the security guard what was up with the office if it was open to general public or what he got all up in my face (seemed to had lil man syndrome pretty bad) and told me Quote unquote, Not enterence unless you are Fucking VIP...... No Bullshit thats exactely what he told me, i had half the mind to bust his lil ass in the chops for talking to me like that especially since i asked him so politely... But anyways i wasnt very impressed....... Jesse seemed like he was a pretty kool guy cause i did manage to talk to him for a lil while at the show

You should have said, "Well, I am not a publisher of a magazine, or a "celebrity", or a famous builder, painter or fabricator, but I AM a tax-paying American, a husband and a beloved father, so I guess I AM a VIP...a Very Important Person".

  11. Just got back...

Party was real nice, saw lots of old buds and had a good time. Bleed was a ruler and really let them have it. Great stuff, as always! Biram got moved up since the crowd was bigger earlier, that sucked as I was real excited to see my bud in Texas.
Party started to wind down so we headed over to the Garage after party. I was hoping Biram was playing there as I never got any word that he did play the speed shop. Jumped in the cars to get to that party, walked through miles of of crazy black bikers and half naked girls....it was awesome. White people were shivering in fear....hahahaha. "Can't we all just get along" They were all harmless....no problems.
Anyway, get there and nobody was there...hahahaha. It was all cool though, sat on a nice couch and chilled a bit. Only realized the next day that Gambino made the same moves and we missed him. Man, Gambino is just way cool... Zero B.S. and all around nice guy.

Talked to Biram on the phone finally and he was tring to get some ass somewhere, hope you made out my brother!

Thanks for the South Austin Speed Shop party! Those cars were sick, ...flawless. I hate Mercs, and that was a pretty nice car.....dont think I've seen better lines ...ever. Killer paint, super cool shop. Thanks again.

Fuck, never saw Stoner, where was he? I got a free mag at the party too, read it before I fell asleep on the plane. Thanks to Garage and the Orbitron article, I drempt of space ships, nudie girls and bike gangs, man I wanna go back to sleep.

We made it (with the kids in tow) about one block from ASS when my cell phone rang. One of my Coollows buddies was broke down on Congress. I tend to carry the most tools and spare parts because of the massive trunk on my '57, so we turned around and scooted over to the alley behind Guerros and worked on the car until well into the a.m. hours. We got him all fixed up and he was able to drive home on Sunday under his own power, so it was worth it.

The kiddos wanted to meet Jesse because they are fascinated with his metal working skills. They're almost 13 (twins) and are about to start on their first project cars. There's always next year. At least they got to see first-hand what it means to sacrifice a little to help out your buds. There's always a lesson to be learned!

That dude said/did the exact same thing to me. I just giggled and asked him if he was taking any applications. When he didn't smile, I patted him on the back and told him to take it easy... it would all be over soon.

    Nothing.

    Poor guy.

    Haha.

It's cause Jesse has that "Kid next door" face and is such a super guy. He is just so easy to get in touch with and hang out. Dude, did he ask for Sandra too :D

I don't get it. I mean don't they realize Jesse can't meet everyone? He is famous whether they like it or not, but he's still needs to do normal shit like you and I. I would never expect to be able to walk right in and slap Jesse on his back and say "What's up buddy?" If I want to meet him I'll try to make it when he has set aside time to meet and greet. Otherwise I will use common courtesy and let them man alone.

Being famous is cool but suxs at the same time. You can't do shit with out some jack ass taking your photo or asking you dumbass questions. But what the hell do I know. I am a nobody.

    Zumo,
You are absolutely correct. Everyone, including the host of a party, needs some privacy, and, yes, having people hanging all over you would get real old real fast. Mr. James seems to do a good job sharing his talents, time, and knowledge. He has demonstrated himself as being gracious, afterall, he threw the party.
The concern isn't Mr. James, its the security fellow.
A simple, "I'm sorry, sir, this office is private and Mr. James is busy at the moment. Please continue to enjoy the party with the other guests".

    Respect begets respect.

Sounds like it was alot of fun. Any plans for the future to do it again? Also I do feel sorry for famous people. It's rad that he has his talent money and toys but to deal with suck asses day in and day out would drive me nuts. So Jesse you are probably a much more patient man then I.

I didn't make it this year for several reasons but next year I'll make it again, I hope. I hope no one comes on here and rags JJ or anyone else for that matter. A guy throws a cool party, that I didn't get to go to, and hangs out to meet and greet people and then some prick rags him for taking time out to have a bite to eat. Why didn't you tell the little cop wanna be to get fucked and enjoy the party. Anyway, next time get there sooner.

That is why I always carry a cooler full. You never know when it will come in handy. It always pays off for me!

Lance and I didn't want you to get raped, being all alone out in the parking lot and all......At least not by anyone else but us.

I am probably going to catch flak for this (Chris) but, wtf!!! I play Ice Hockey with alot of Celebs and I don't ask them about this and that and all the shit that they hear all the time pertaining to their Profession. We talk hockey and only hockey. Same goes with Mr. James. He respects you more if ya talk shop with him (cars and bikes) and treats him like an equal. KNUX! p.s. Jesse, Looking forward to the new issue. I will be down at the shop next week with a certain someone to talk to Michelle. Thanx again Bro! Lee
