OK, a lot of the rat trucks I see on here and all over the net have some sort of painting/saying on the doors. It usually matches the rest of the vehicle as far as wear and tear so I'm wondering what the trick is to making it look that way after you paint it on?

The rest of 'em are jalopies.
Oh and the patina and rust are real.

As for door signs, pay someone a ton of money to letter it then when its dry take some steel wool to it.

4t64rd - guess I missed that. Maybe it should be a sticky or one of those things that you read one sentence at a time upon sign up, clicking that you have read and understand each and every "suggestion" before clicking ahead and signing on.
How many people would choose not to enlist if they really knew what this place was about? It would cut down on the repe***ive *** chewings every week ... but I suppose that would take a lot of fun away for a lot of us.

holy **** man...did you even bother reading ANYTHING when you signed on here or did you just ***ume that any old modified car without paint is a rat rod. then, you go from one end of the spectrum ALL the way to the total opposite end whilst neglecting that there must be something in the middle. explore a little. read a little. sit back and figure things out. and for ****'s sake, don't go spouting rat, billet, modern engines, fake patina, replacing the letter "c" with a "k," replacing the letter "s" with "z" or being ignorant in general as a new guy. keep that in mind, you might fit in around here...otherwise, buzz off and put some fake patina on that **** plug of yours so you feel "kool" while you sit on it.

Is this a rat truck because it has the disabled symbol on the licence plate ? :D

  27. Probably none... Hopefully, most times the digital corporal punishment dished out works better than being s**** fed the "guidlines".

If your widdle biddy ego gets bwoosed, you weren't all that interested in the gospel we're spreadin' anyway, go away.

The term "rat", I believe comes from the wonderful world of ******** bikers back in the day. Motorcycles that were rode hard and never cleaned, usually coated with surface rust and sun flattened paint. These were called rats, rat bikes or rat ****s as in, "Hey bro, I dig that rat **** scoot your jammin' on!". These terms were in no way a put down and were in fact terms of endearment, as it meant that the owner rode hard and was in no way a weekend warrior or wanna be. These bikes were created by Mother Nature and time and were a badge of honor. To build one, would usually be looked down on and sometimes get your melon thumped!. Then some ***hole from some magazine came along and dropped the term (not knowing it's true meaning) on what were traditional hot rods and as they say, The rest is history.
