has any one done this? i seen the tech on how to bag a stock front end on a chevy my question is would it be the same on the pontiac??
Not trying to be snotty, but do a search. There was a thread on a bit ago where someone...Brandy maybe, was lowering a 53. If I remember, there's a problem with getting a pontiac more than 4" lower without cutting the trunk pan because of the punkin'. Good general and specific info in the thread.
...well a mustangII would solve the problem, or are you wanting to use the stock front end and modify for bags? -marty
i want to bag it on a stock front end, ive also heard that u cant MII a poncho cause of a different wheel base
This may help you out, Im not sure how close the chev front end is to the poncho, but Im sure the principles are the same... http://www.lowridermagazine.com/tech/0603lrm_cheap_air_bag_suspension/index.html
i've never done a Poncho but i've done a lot of other vehicles. from the pics you put up it should basicly be the same. if it won't go as low as you would like (looks like it has short coils and not a lot of height in that area) you might concider dropping the control arm. meaning lowering the center of the lower control arm where the spring would mount so that the spring (bag in this case) sits down inside the lower control arm more. could be agood for a couple more inches... if you want it lower than you can get it otherwise. this is not a "you HAVE to do this, kind of thing." so yeah. it looks pretty straight forward. just make sure to trim the frame so that NOTHING comes into contact with the bag at ANY point in it's travel and you should be all set... P.S. if you need bag parts let me know ... sorry for the shameless spam.
