    Looks absolutely gorgeous Myke!

To add to the "boxing" controversy: I have driven an unboxed '32 with a flathead, and I think it could probably use boxing plates. I will never add them, but when running down the interstate you can watch the radiator shake back and forth. Or maybe it's the bias-plys' fault? Car rides nice other than the having the "shivers".

don't see how boxing the frame would stop a vibration?? only thing it's going to help is the twist from hard acceleration. say, your doors pop open when you punch the gas:eek:

Is that steering column running between your clutch pedal and break? If it is it seems sketchy. I have big feet though.

That's the way God intended them. And Henry too.

Nobody with big feet can drive a stock-sized '32. I have to wear some Vans to drive, not my boots.

  10. That ch***is is beautiful.:D I'm interested in how the exhaust terminates after the crossmember. Could you post a picture of how the tips exit? Thanks

That looks just right, the way a detail-conscious rodder would have built one just before the war. Love it.

Can you point them out to me and tell us what they're for? I'm not sure what they are.

You can see them in photo #7. They are the black rods coming off the bellhousing part of the block and going back to the frame.

    Thanks!

The exhaust goes through the crossmember and exits at the end of the rear frame rails.

    Thanks!

The theory of the anti chatter rods is to keep tension on the drive train. Some poeple say you don't need them, but henry used them for many years so they must work.

They are the rods that go from the k member up to holes in the engine near the point the trans bolts on.

I think all v8's engines had holes for them between 32 and 48. I do know that 32 4 cylinders had them too, I am not sure about model a's.

    Thanks!

I am using a mustang dual drum/drum (I think 1968) with 10 psi residual valves front and rear. 1/4" lines with speed bleeders and silicon dot 5 fliud.

More info than you asked but I figured I would post it. I picked all of this stuff from info posted here on the HAMB. I works perfect with a solid pedal (2" of pedal travel). I was able to bleed it on my own with the speed bleeders in about an 1/2 hour. I did bench bleed the
    master first.

I am surprised no one has picked up on the copper brake line yet.

  21. FWIW, The bangers had them also. There are "outboard" mounting holes on the "K" member for them.

Geez, Myke, looks really good! I didn't read pages 2 and 3, but do you have the exhaust run through the rear crossmember? Maybe it IS the muffler? hmmmmmmm?!

Beautiful work and great attention to detail!

You must have been busy collecting parts for quite a while.

    How's the 36 coming along?

    Thanks!

I have been collecting parts for about 4 years now, seems like it's been forever. I do have everything I need now to finish it. My tastes have changed over the time so once it's together I know I will be swaping out some parts.

36 is sitting in the corner in the body shop. I need to save up some more money to give him so he will work on it again. Funny how that works.

Hey, BEAUTIFUL! Is that a mechanical tach drive on the front of the crank? Know where I can get one of those?
    Keep up the good work!

... can you use the original battery carrier with that master cylinder arragement? thanx.[/QUOTE]

I make this setup so that the original battery box can still be used, or the original SPACE
can be used for a custom box. For 6-volt systems, we make a support that bolts in (using only original factory holes) and has a thick raised floor; then install a 6-volt optima on its side, with the terminals facing toward the centerline of the ch***is. This allows the LH
exhaust to p*** below it without hanging down too low. By the way, the master cylinder
setup also bolts in using only factory holes and do not have to butcher the pedals or
    anything else.

(I have not posted much on the HAMB, so if I am not supposed to talk about my own stuff
on here, I am SURE you guys will let me know...and I will go back to the Ford Barn!!!)

  30. richard,
i personally appreciate your input. i hope you can hang around.
