I called a friend this morning to ask him a question, and he said he was at the s**** yard dropping off a `47 Ford truck.I asked him why...and he told me that he thought nobody would want it because it was ugly, and it even still had the flathead V-8 in it. I tried to talk him out of it,then *****ed him out for not telling me about it.

    WTF is wrong with people?????

Friend of mine took an excellent running 48 Ford inline 6 to s****.
I was looking at his 48 F1 with the V8 Flatty he dropped in it and said hey wheres the 6 I will buy it or trade ya for it. Oh I junked it, I dont care for them.
I couldnt believe that. He owned it for damn near 30 years!

But the story has a happy ending. He sold it to you for s**** value, saving the old truck and the flatty from certain doom.

    Right?

Why does this surprise you ??

I read all the time... Even here on the HAMB.....

How all this old Junk is for ****.... '40 Style juice brakes are ****, Banjo rears are weak junk, Flatheads are OverHeating cracked boat anchors, Straight Axles & Tranverse springs are un~Comfortable, Stock frames are fatigued & not worth working with.

If people would stop & think of the word they are speading, Which isnt the GOSPEL OF TRADITION, Everyone wouldnt be junking all the old stuff.

Here on the HAMB all i ever read is... DISK BRAKES, S-10 FRAME CONVERSIONS, AIR BAGS, 9' REAR, MUSTANG II FRONTS, POWER STEERING & BRAKES, 2x3 TUBE FRAME, ETC.....

Its no wonder people are throwing this old **** away !!!!!

Just think of all the BRAND NEW **** you can buy from a cataloge if we s**** this worn out **** !!

I didnt think that was negative ..... Its really kinda the truth dont ya think ?

Seems to me if nobody wants to run the old parts then what do ya do with them? And at s**** prices it seems more old parts will go to the recycler

I tried to help the kid who couldnt get his Y~Block started, Posted about his problem that nobody else even thought to look at.

No, I actually completely disagree with everything you said. There are tons upon tons of posts of guys doing good things the right way... Hell, I'll post a list if you would like... but you search out the stuff that allows you to open your pie hole and feel like a hero. Your post history tells the story man. Drama. Drama. Drama. Queen.

Point being, cynicism around something I love so much gets pretty old. If you don't like it here and feel like it's just post after post of horse **** - hit the road homie. I'd be more than happy to help.

    Well said Ryan.

  15. As a lurker, I used to value his input. It's nice to have someone to say the stuff you would like to, but don't have the energy to get involved. Then after a bit, I realized how hard he is trying. It does get old...

If that were all you were doing, I wouldn't be so annoyed with you. You know, some folks really cherish this joint. Count me as one of them... And when we have someone like you that is just here to "talk **** and use the cl***ifieds", it starts to irk me...

All I ask is that ya read your post history. What percentage of them is the direct result of looking for drama? I mean, maybe that is time better spent finishing your car?

I dunno.. I shouldn't have gotten involved as now I am creating more of what you seem to enjoy - drama.
