I'd do it--I love junk yarding. I'll bring a truck and tools.
What day? Dave suggested on Sunday...not many yards are open Sunday (Pull-a-part is, though), but I'd do it any day.

Anybody have a number for that yard for hours and directions?

O.K., I don't know why the link won't work, must be just down the dirt road from stealth...

The guy with the cars is named Mack, and his # is 706-884-4242.

I'd be up for running up there on Sat. or Sun. this weekend.

    Later,

  8. ok guys, hears the scoop. i called mack waugh, the owner. the yard is in lagrange, ga., about 35 miles north of columbus. he has been collecting for 60 years and has been closed to the public for 20. if youve seen the pics in the link, thats only the tip of the iceberg. he has over a thousand vehicles from the 30's to the 70's. but hears the other deal. he is letting someone else help him and they are only taking appointments for visits, and charging admission. granted, 20 bucks for an all day dig thru history would be worth it, the old man doesnt seem like he is going to be around much to take time to walk thru. most of us guys have 5-days-a-week jobs so we would want to go yard diggin on saturday and sunday. he says if you buy something like an old car, you get your 20 back. i would like to go myself, i just know i will see more stuff than i could ever buy. take a long look thru the website, also click thru some of his "tags" to get various categories. thanks.....

...here's the info. I took these pictures sometime around 1998. For years, before Mack's dad died, he wouldn't even let you in to look. However, he let me in with a camera, no tools, for about 3 hours back around 1988.

The link below shows the pictures taken in 1998. The yard is located on Highway 27 just north of La Grange, GA.
