So we've seen falcons done right, gassers gone wild, and 100 other strangely named posts, but how about a galaxie photo or 2? I'm in a bit of a rut with my '62 and almost put the old boat up for sale the other day. I quickly kicked myself and changed my mind, but I've been getting a bit bummed lately. I love malcolm's car, for the record, but I bought mine with with more of a hot street car/race-oriented setup in mind, as my dad and uncle both raced tri-fives in the 60's and I'm not the that into customs (though photos of those are welcome too. Change my mind!!! I'm open to anything!). Anybody care to throw up a few ideas or just a few nicely done cars to boost my enthusiasm? Thanks, Red
Anything, really. I LOVE super stock stuff, though. I'm just looking for a little motivation to get off my McDuff this summer and do something useful.
You want to get inspired check out Ryan's post about the Tobacco King thats the kitty's cooter right there!
Here's one you might remember Bob Fermier's old car 406 FE 4-speed. The link goes to You Tube. The car was very strong in B/S Stock in '62 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_oSv2dEncQ
I loved watching Dan Gurney run Galaxies in the NASCAR road races at Riverside in the '60s. Here are two of his rides:
Galaxies are freakin awesome I am on my 4th 66 and i still have my first. I went the custom route but I have even seen pics of them set up gasser style and they look amazing. I still havent figured out how to post pictures I guess I need to figure that out
I do have to say i've never seen one set up as a gasser. Any photos? I'm not seeing it, but hey, it could happen. And i LOVE that '64 Tobacco car!!! I'd be afraid to go near it. Looks mean as hell!!!
Is the video not showing? I can put a link to it if it isn't. I haven't embedded video here so it might not show. I can hear it. It was raced new by Bob Fermier in 1962, and that is him at the wheel and V-Gate with a milk crate for a seat after 40 some years since he ran it. They plan to campaign it in NSS last I heard.
I would like to see some shit too. I just came across a '62 and '63, $1300 for the both. I'm going to go check them out tomorrow.
here's a few different shots of my old 62' .. it's nothing crazy, very mild custom. painted it green , ran it like that for a couple years then got a fresh gold paint so i could sell it for more $$$$$$$ i actually regret selling it!!! it was a great car just needed a little fine tuning!! DAMN IT!!!!
Wow, thanks guys! I absolutely love Finkd's '63, and it would be in my garage if I had the money.... In the mean time, I'll keep slowly improving the '62. Here's what I started with about 3 years ago: Malcolm
