I hate spiders, they creep me out big time, and I havnt even seen a black widow before in person. If it were me, I would call in a professional, I wouldnt take any risk of not eraticating those guys 100%.

Ammonia (use outdoors) or Lemon Pledge. When I worked for a contractor, my boss carried a can of Lemon Pledge in his truck because he was seriously scared of spiders. I've seen him use it a few times and they ****tered out of his work area without returning.

There are some remedies for keeping them out of the shed which is the bigger problem in my opinion. A quick Google search will most likely net you a hundred or so options.

Good idea on the google search...but figured there'd be a lots of guys/gals here who have been into the same thing.

Oh...no ex wife...then again, the current Mrs. 3Mike6 and myslef are not getting along real good these days...so maybe I could just hand her a broom and tell her to get busy;)

    Damn...where's that insurance policy at?

Re: the Pledge...did it kill them on contact? I don't want them ****tering out just yet, rather try to contain and kill'em.

Cover the car with a heavy tarp, use something to keep the edges down and set off a couple bombs. Stick around, in case some of the ****ers make a break for it. Afterwards, power wash the hell out of it. I don't mean no car wash, I mean a REAL power wash. Even if you have to rent it.

    Good luck.

Oh, if you do miss a few:

Treating a black widow spider bite:
Black widow venom is a neurotoxin - it effects the nerves and is extremely painful. The fatality rate for black widow spider bites is under 5% but the pain and discomfort that is caused is intense and can last for days. If someone gets bitten by a black widow, wash the bite well with soap and water, do your best to capture the spider and then head to your doctor immediately. If you’re lucky, the spider may not have injected any venom during the bite.

Black Widow:confused: In Australia, we've got proper spiders:D.

    Bug bomb them. Spiders ****.

  18. step 1.) give them a hit of brake cleaner..
    step 2.) lift foot.
step 3.) drop foot on the lil ****er..

in the event of investation , do all the above , put on some music ..
    ITS TIME TO RIVER DANCE!!!:D

if all else fails have your wife kill them or do what ^fred^ suggest..

load it up on the trailer and take the car to your local pest control business and walk in and tell them"you got a job for them".

Hmm, makes you wonder what the heck is in dryer sheets that smells so good.

I'd tent it nice a tight and gas it with a couple of cans. Keep animals and kids away, and then go back to it in a couple of days and let it air out in the sun for a while and then slowly check it over and be ready with some Raid or something for any or the really tough ones.

Or call a professional, push the car back in the garage and let him take care of both garage and the car at the same time.

I am not too afraid of spiders, but having one or even always thinking one is crawling up your pants leg or in shirt is not a good feeling.

Why don't you just get rid of the whole car, that will do it! I'll come get it.. No thanks is necessary. Doing things like that for people is thanks enough.

I tried the dryer sheet trick after reading it in the hornet/wasp thread and it didn't really work.

That thread also mentioned badgers...try one of those.

Bug bombs / foggers (which use pyrethrum) are lethal to flying creatures but aren't as much to the crawlers. Plus, bombs are repellants... it'll just send the spiders to ****ter.

Call a pest control company, there's an Orkin in your hood.
