Went through about half of this thread tonight and had to stop when my eyes got blurry.Thought I'd throw in a couple of pictures. This is Jack Williams in the Syndicate Scuderia. This has to be,in my opinion, one of the nicest dragsters around. He still owns the car and takes it on a joy ride once in a while down the track.

As you requested, don't think these have been on yet, to lazy to go back over every page again. not to good at making them larger.
Thanks again for this GREAT thread.

That car is perfect! When I see a digger where the drivers eyes are about even with the top of the tire, I get short of breath. LOVE!

    King,
that photo is of the last restoration project that Pat Foster completed for Paul Candies (along with a later back motor car). The driver was Q-ball Wale and that may be the balancing company connection.
Back to the Aussie stuff here is the latest installment, still at Surfers for the 70 Nats.

The story behind this photo is,
Brooksfield Raceway in South Australia, during the summer of 1967
put up a $100 prize for the first car to do a 100 foot wheelstand.

Ron OConnell's Ponty Pree was one car assembled to attempt the feat.

Ron Hassett's Austin 8 was another.

The Ponty Pree claimed the cash.
I have on the, South Australian Drag Racing 25th Anniversary video tape footage
of the Ponty Pree getting crossed up and gracefully rolling over.

Thank you to all the people who contribute to this thread.
