M/T casting patterns on *bay...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by monsterflake, Apr 29, 2008.

  1. dunno it just is aggravating to be outbid online or at live auctions .. bid what ya feel is worth and walk away :D:(

auction buying has evened out purchase $ for me anyway ....some I over paid but most was undervaluedand bought real stupidly low..

killer deals or killer stuff ( I just can't be out bid sometimes!)

like fishing you always remember more about" the one that got away "

any guess where this M/T contest will end.?

obviously, we shouldn't be speculating on what the auction will end up bringing, 'cause we don't know what the secret is...

Seems to me that if there was a real market for this stuff, and it was useable, that someone in the performance buisness would ****** 'em up. Maybe, uh- Edelbrock. I think they might just have everything needed: a multi-million dollar factory and all the guys who know how to cast and finish parts. Would be very cool if this stuff was good and could be put to use.

This is unbelievable....Times are tough and cool **** is coming out of the woodwork on ebay for sale! that blown rover motor is quite a find as well.

The auction says you have to pickup in person. It'd be real intresting to see what else is there. WOW ---- one of the coolest things Ive seen on ebay ever.

Somebody NEEDS to pick up that Pontiac motor on Ebay and power a hot rod with it. I would think you could fine some rods to subs***ute for the aluminum ones he has as running aluminum rods on the street is a little iffy.
Axle, that would be the perfect compliment to the M/T engine you have. Besides, dig up another 5w and clone your old car.:)

Hey sent an email telling her that I am retired foundry worker and interested also asked any hint as to reserve as I have limited funds. who knows might get an answer I also asked about the core boxes only saw breathers n one set of heads in pics I would think if these were in production they would have shell core boxes made of aluminum or steel and patterns would be mounted on boards or plates. I have seen a lot of stuff like this in the proto type stage to get an end product and basicly just the starting point to check fit, then on to cores n finished products. have seen a lot of sawed up parts in this stage from making sure of wall thickness and runners being correct. Anyway just my 2 cents worth

  15. Maybe the seller's location (Penryn, CA) is a clue to the mystery.

    First of all jack ***
Neither studhud or myself , have any intention of telling strangers on a open forum on the internet our friends business or his personal reasons for selling the patterns?
Do you do that kinda **** to your friends? If you do you wont have friends for long.
I just found all the speculating on the cir***stances amusing.
    Second
Everything you need to know is in the action or you can email him on ebay, YES ITS A HIM(there’s a clue for the knitting club)
Call me whatever the **** you want, but I’m always loyal to my friends and family first.

Im going out to the garage and put rings on my pistons so I can make my own history FTS.

By the way WTF happened to the "NO EBay threads rule"?
That I got all *****ed out at over, about for 3 or 4 years ago

"Everything you need to know is in the action"

I ended it for him as his auction ****ed ***! If they are to be sold the auction might as well be done with a waaaay better description and pics to get the most attention and therefore the most cash. He's not greedy but why let them go for nothing.

  22. Was it me, I'd break the stuff up by make. Not just because you generally get more bids that way, but because at the same time it's easier to sell smaller lots for less money to more people than large lots to one guy with money falling out of his ****. There are more guys with not quite that much money. But it's your show.

who gives a **** about 'personal reasons' for selling stuff on ebay? if you wanna keep secrets, don't put parts on the WORLD'S LARGEST AUCTION SITE!

the INTERNET is not known for keeping secrets.

why on earth wouldn't you want AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE, seeing and bidding on parts you're trying to sell?

i thought it was very interesting that this stuff still exists, but as to whether or not it's usable, i have no ****ing idea! who gives a ****?!? it exists and it is
FOR SALE! it's not like somebody secretly took pictures of some guy's personal **** and plastered it all over the internet without permission...

    fts is right...

I wasn't questioning your loyalty, I just found it interesting that 2 people felt it necessary to tell "strangers on an open forum on the internet" how they know the whole story, and we all look so silly, but wont share the knowledge or enlighten the rest of us. Seems pretty self-serving to me.
The only reason I have been following this thread is for the historical aspect, I'm interested in the story of how they survived, and where they end up. I could'nt care less about your friends personal situation or the various E-Bay strategies.
Let us know when you make history.
