Any chance you can sneak in with a HAMB shirt on? Or do they monitor you guys too tight? I've seen guys with the front of their shirt blurred....

Nobody wants to see me! I've been on sets and there's someone designated to look for anything out of place(like me!)and remove it. Sometimes they add things that don't fit the theme and it looks staged. Sponsers products, etc.

Bob. I always love seeing you at a show. You are one of the coolest guys that I have met that is on this site...nuff said!!! Oh, and your cars are pretty kool too. Have you paid the yearly on your AAA yet? Santa Maria is coming up soon!!!! KNUX!

  7. Hey can someone put in a good word for me I want my ride PIMPED!! That show is a waste of time! You could get a better job done at one a day! Chip is the man, I agree with the others man has a huge amount of talent, hey skratch, remember steve "wheels" the guy in the wheel chair? he lives up here, we were talking one day about the show and I was amazed at the stuff that does not make the show. I would love to get on one of the teams!

  8. And then there's "Car Wars". Everybody speaks in "bleeps", and the bling-mobiles look like they're slapped together by someone with a J.C.Whitney gold card. My favorite scene was when the chick's SBC-equipped S10 Blazer only made 171HP on the dyno. BUT-after the addition of Castrol Syntec Oil (sponsor of the show) it made 305! Gee whiz, that stuff must be magic!

I would love to have my car overhauled by Foose...but I would love it more if I got to be on the build team. I would promise not to second guess Foose even! I can't imagine how much I would learn just sweeping the joint up with all of that talent in the room.

  12. I can take or leave it. But the problem we have in the shop is some ass-hat watches these cats give a car a total makeover in one week and they think we can do the same. Real world verses the TV world . This shit drives me crazy>>>>.

I'd like to see the show move out of California for a few episodes. Say a few in the Mid West and then tothe East. Look for a restorable car ( No complete rust buckets ) and do it....

I think Foose is very talented. BUT, come on, last week a Mustang and this week a Chevy pickup. I'm sure people have sent in more interesting cars to "Overhaul." I guess with average stuff it is easy to get parts ,ect. Like to see him do a 34 pickup or a 49-50 Chevy or Olds. How about a 37 Ford or a 34 Chevy coupe.
I'll still watch to see what they do.

We saw it last night for the first time. I thought the straight story without the pranks was a huge improvement, even if the truck was kinda ordinary. Even my wife thought it was way more interesting.

I like it, less "pranking" BS, and more car building. Plus, SCRATCH is one of the new stars!

Saw that one for the first time too, stopped watching a while ago and watched that episode after hearing the pranking stopped on this thread. Truck was kinda ordinary, but I understand why they kept it that way. I thought it was way better without the pranking. It's defenetly more tolerable then any other "fabrication based" shows such as "American chopper", and the late "American hot rod", since they get rid of all the drama bullshit and just build a car. Speaking of, has anyone heard of anything coming together for Gene Winfeilds show? Heard something about him starting a show in some other thread a while ago.

  21. the show still beats "pimp my ride" hands down even with all the shop bullshit..

Liked it without the pranking. Though it was a bit flat. Can't put my finger on it though. Perhaps it was the guy who they did the car for. In thinking about it perhaps his response was real and not TV canned excitement. Sometimes real life isn't what it's made to be on TV. May be it was the lack of excitement on the truck. Is Edelbrock the only crate engine builder willing to donate an engine? The previous eye candy was nice, perhaps alternating girls like Seinfeld used to do; always someone new and different. Chip's genuineness seems to come through the TV well. I know that the autograph lines were way far longer at Goodguys Columbus. The Boyd booth was no waiting. I liked American Hotrod too but the arguing drama got old quick.
For as good a Boyd was supposed to be; we didn't get to see him hands on too often. that's where Chip had him beat. Hard Shine was different and showed more actual work but that blond girl was too much for me. Perhaps TV drama again. Why didn't Littleman keep the job? In any event the show is history. Perhpas many of these shows have had their run with these TV producers.

  23. Three episodes into the new season and we're getting reruns already. What gives? I was expecting the '56 BelAir last night.
